Brake Pads for UK streets

Hi All,

What aftermarket street pads would everyone recommend for back & front?

The computers are telling me that I need to change them, I know they are not 100% accurate, but defo worth doing some research ahead of time and get them done ASAP.

Pagid? Ferodo? Brembo? Textar?

Thanks in advance for your help.

OE fitment is ATE, I think textar & pagid too.

Would avoid Ferodo, not sure about Brembo

I was lucky that I got the pads for £60 from a chap that sold his car and had them going spare. Knowing that they will be needed I snapped them up,mine are at 5mm so another year maybe...

Looking to get the textar Epad rear & brembo for the front.
Can't seem to find a better set for the front that's available. :

Sounds good,I have textar on the rears,(6mm left) you can read what's on there. The adjuster ratchets have to be wound back when changing them.

I’m not competent to change pads, but is it feasible to get any basic garage to change pads?

Yeah it's a fairly straight forward process. Most tyre/mechanics will be able to do it quick

How much you paying for these if you don't mind me asking...... ?? These are on ebay for £209 (fronts only) which is steep, but if they produce FAR less dust than oem pads I'm willing to pay for it when mine are due....

Redstuff pads aren't safe on a Vauxhall Nova. You would be better off using a jigsaw and cutting out a brake pad shape from a piece of wood and fitting that than fitting those pads.

I'd stick to OEM/ATE/Textar/Pagid/Ferodo/Brembo etc, which are all readily available. If you want a performance pad, Pagid RSL29 is the one. End of. No ifs or buts.

Well if Pagid website is anything to go by these things are ridiculous cost of pads varies massively (guessing one is street and one is race pads??) even though codes are the same etc : and to say they are expensive is an understatement.......

The confusing same numbers and difference of £122 with the final wallop of nearly £500 is enough to put anyone off.
There is a price to pay for less dust pads and sharper braking in that they eat into your discs more I would have thought and we know how much they are

Do you have experience with redstuff? Why do you say they are bad?
My mechanic who drives a e30 M3 things redstuff is far better than textar and it's equivalent and night and day compared to Ferodo
