Need help, bad tire wear on new tires

Purchased the car a few months ago. Has Dinan suspension and almost new tires (stock size and wheels). Car is lowered but not slammed. I don’t hear any rubbing. Any idea what caused this? Previous owner said had it aligned after the suspension install about 7 months ago and tires were great when I took the car. You think it’s rubbing something or is it alignment? Do I need a camber kit?

Check alignment. Looks like you're running with too much toe out and negative camber.

Yeah I'd recommend getting an alignment done first on the car. They should also be able to adjust toe/camber a little to help you out. But most importantly give you the exact numbers of the current setup. (IE firestone, les swab)

I’m willing to bet the previous owner didn’t align the car after spring install. That degree of tire wear indicates your toe is miles off.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Did some rough measurements in the garage for toe and camber. A bit too much of both, but I don’t think it’s enough to cause the type of damage I’m seeing. It really looks like it rubbing something. Thoughts?

Camber
L R
-2.8 -2.2
-2ish -2ish

Toe.
Front 3/16th toe in
Rear slightly less than 1/8" toe in

If it is alignment, will I need any aftermarket parts to help with adjusting it due to it being lowered on Dinan suspension?

I also should mention that there are 20mm spacers up front and 15mm on the back from the previous owner

Looking at my firestone sheet it, it says the recommend values for
front camber is -0.7 to 0.3
rear camber is -2.3 to -1.4
front toe -0.02 to -0.18
rear toe 0.05 to 0.25

Your numbers look really off.

No you shouldn't. I had Dinan setup as well.

Thats kinda of extra... I had 12mm front and 10mm rears and it was pretty flush

I'd take it to firestone and get them to do an alignment on their machine. It was like $90 if I remember correctly. They measure it and correct it as much as they can. They will recommend aftermarket kits if they can't get it within spec.

Ok, thanks for the input. I’ll be taking it in for an alignment when the new tires arrive

It's your alignment. I didn't align my m5 after installing springs and a month later my rear tires looked like yours. Got it aligned by a race shop close to me and it's been perfect ever since. 10k miles and even wear.

I was looking for a thread on this. Inside tire wall has been wearing out on front and rear tires. I will have to find a shop that can do the alignment so this doesn’t keep happening.
