New owner with a few questions :-)
HI All
I have had my F10 M5 for around a month now and done around 2K mile in it. I have had many cars including an E92M3 and a F80M3. Have to say the M5 is amazing and I ticks all the boxes for me and the family. I am having a few things done to the car in the next month or so, ill post up when I have them done, and was just looking for some advise. I have ben searching round the forum and found the answer to most things but these are still outstanding. -Looking at having the DCT serviced. Is there a service schedule for the DCT? any advise on anything I should have done as well (Ill be having Engine an Oil change) -The car is on 30K and is a single owner 2016 car. What are peoples views on having the rod bearings done? -Do people use Valve controllers for the exhaust system? I have a Milltek going on soon as well. There is so much great information on this forum so if some of this is covered and I have missed it during my searching, please just link me to the posts. Many thanks all |

The manual says you need to change your DCT fluid around 45K miles. The fluid is supposed to be lifetime so go figure. I have a 2014 with 115k miles on the clock. I change mine every time I change spark plugs which is at 20k miles. I'm also tuned so that plays a role here as well.
As far as rod bearings go. Just change your oil every 7500 miles using a 0W/40 or 5W/40 premium brand. The bearings will love the new oil trust me. Good luck on your search. |
