Interesting problem on door of f10 m5

So any idea what the door panels are made of...I was always under the impression it was aluminium but then ive just spotted this and looks like rust under the paintwork???!!! However, if they are aluminium, it begs the question, if not rust then what is this??

They’re steel, and for sure that’s rust. Had the car been repaired at some point?

Looks like paint blistering. Could be due to extreme fluctuations in temperature or humidity.

Get the mini file on it and see, if there's white powder underneath the paint then it's the alloy corroding.

Has the car had any paint/panel work?

If not, the BMW corrosion warranty should cover you.
