I have had the 1st Milltek exhaust fitted to my F10 M5. They used her for development. Just need to work out how to attach video!

90 mm, dircet from 1st cat on engine. They are woking on trying to get around the cats being bolted to the engine. Valvetronic from the stock exhaust. sounds like a dream. Press M1 and she screams. Still at 30 mph round town nice and quiet, just petrol heads notice until the loud pedal goes down. All FOC .due to development.

nice!!! I approached Miltek some time ago about getting one for the f10 m5 and they advised they had no plans to develop one which left me a bit gutted as I loved the noise on my RS4...
Gonna get straight back on the blower to them to see if this is something they are going to sell as would love to get one! |

Have to admit.I was originally very excited to hear about this and now im pretty pissed off....
Im looking to extended the warranty on my car when it expires in March 2016. Ive had a few performance cars in the past and have always extended the warranty due to potential repair bills being so high Ive subsequently been in contact with Allianz who are underwritten by MOndial to check how having an exhaust will effect my warranty on my m5 unfortunately after much going backwards and forwards and me trying to argue my points, they have categorically said that adding anything which is not a BMW original part will invalidate the warranty.FULL stop eg; if my heated electric seat stops working, i will not be able to claim under warranty because of the after market exhaust.!.....Can you believe that!!! So Im now considering a slush fund instead of a warranty so that I can purchase the exhaust...However to be honest, I think I will have to forget about the exhaust if it means not having a warranty..I know when these cars go wrong they can be very expensive so not sure I can keep my slush fund topped up enough! |

ok, so far...... one friend who had a modded 2011 GTR from Litchfield had warranty for a year though them but afterwards bought extended warranty from Warranty Direct. the tuning mods were taken off but the aftermarket exhaust remained. WD said they would cover the car and as long as the failure isn't casued by the modification, then the warranty would still be valid.
so I could understand Allianz not wanting to cover the aftermarket exhaust itself under their extended warranty, as the exhaust manufacturers should be giving your some warranty protection, but to say all cover is null and void if you change anything non OEM, that is very tight, and arguable with a good brief! If other faults occur like heated seats or even gearbox etc then in theory the warranty company would not wriggle on a claim as the fault is not connected or caused by the exhaust in any way. If the above is the case, as long as you don't have a re-map or the exhaust messes with back pressure by deleting cats or down pipes then I've always thought the ecu wouldn't know any different? If something did happen put it back to stock. Can't see how a non-silence exhaust would cause any damage anyway... what other mods are you looking to do?

Just tell them you damaged the exhaust and you've fitted a TUV/EC type approved replacement part.
