F10 M5 rod bearings
Hello, took my 2015 M5 to a shop and was quoted 13k in repairs for the power steering system and some engine maintenance(4 injectors, all coils and sparks) as well as replacing and reprogramming an ECU. I feel like I’ve been overcharged but as well as being told my rod bearings need to be changed asap and the cars at 70k miles. Is this normal?

I'd agree that 13k $ is a silly price to pay for the other things with the oil service, sounds a rip off. |

What’s the reason for injectors and ECU?
As Rick said, you can’t know if your rod bearings are going out. I suggest you take an oil sample after 5k miles and send it to Blackstone Laboratories. Oh, and maybe look for a new shop that doesn’t treat you like a dollar sign. |

Received a drivetrain malfunction warning and now my Dog is in limp mode throwing a code:P054D
I’m going to troubleshoot the issue by start to replace the 02 Sensors,Cam Sensors and the Vanos Solenoids. Is this a good start to try and find out what is the issue? I really hope that the issue doesn’t go any deeper than this. 2013 M5 |

M5Rick 111455 I believe they still have the original plugs. I just got this beast of a machine a few months back. I’ve been slow to go through standard equipment updates/maitenance and the moment I had the chance to begin putting in new components I received the malfunction alert. Changing the sparks was in my list as well. I’m just trying to figure out what’s the first step I can take before I get to the point of going to a shop. |

Engine control Module (PCM) monitors ignition cold start so it needs to go in to a repair shop for more diagnosis, you can try to cancel out the code but if you can't and it continues to run with lack of power on start up then it has to go in for more diagnosis and possible repair I'm afraid. You say 'they' still have the original plugs but I gather they are not on the car ! I changed mine out at 40k when car was going into low power mode then returning. GL with that. |
