Well fudge, somethings wrong with my diff

I hopped in the car yesterday, and when I put it in reverse and tapped the gas to get it rolling, nothing happened. I looked at the parking brake and it wasn't engaged. I put it in drive, tapped, car rolled like it should. Put it back in reverse, gas tap, it started rolling the went POP POP but kept rolling. I pulled it into neutral and rolled down the driveway. Back in drive, drove around the block. No problem. Got back to the house, and decided to try reverse again and backed it up my short slight grade driveway, no problem. I don't know what the hell all that was about but I'm not driving it until I get it jacked up and look at everything. Could that possibly be a rear caliper sticking?

Got around to looking at this. I read it with bimmerlink and it had a regulated diff lock code. .4 seconds after I deleted it I thought CRAP I should have screenshot that first. Dammit. So drove the car around, went in a parking lot and reversed it, drive, reverse several times, came home and read it, code didn't come back. Drove it some more, read it, no code. There's a reason I call it The Crazy Bitch.

This weekend I'm going to get it in the air and find the plug to the servo and clean, inspect the support.

I don't know yet, but if not I don't want to go down that road.

Understatement of the year. It's gorgeous. I'd like to shake the hand of the guy who wrote that CNC code.

OEM bushing from a broken diff bracket, since you can’t buy this bushing without the brace 😬
