USB Audio
Hey guys,
I have a 2015 \\\M5 and was wondering if anyone know whether there is a 'track limit' for iDrive to understand from the centre USB? What I mean is, I have a USB flash drive (exFat) with approx 1000 songs on, mostly .flac but some .ogg and .mp3. The iDrive will detect & play these with no issue. I have just got a 250GB portable SSD (also exFat) and put 100GB worth of audio on from my Astell & Kern AK120 (as the music in there is structured by folder and iDrive only seems to recognize files in the root directory) yet the iDrive wont pick up these (circa 9000) tracks. Does anyone know about this or is it a case of leaving the SSD connected for a while? Cheers all! Walshy |

Its 40,000 tracks on 4 devices.
May take some while for it to learn the file structure of a external hard drive. Quote:

Yeah and every time you start up .. Ive found USB connectivity in my late 2013 very poor, so much so I had the socket changed but it didnt improve stuff .. I just use bluetooth now .. but the cars voice recognition system doesent allow song searches via bluetooth , but does via USB |

Its supposed to recognize the USB device and remember the last file structure.
Changes will take a little while to show up. It will remember 4 USB devices. Another very fast way is to have a cheap new model IPOD Nano connected via USB
