Oh my...the wrong color

Oh lord, I have just got confirmation that my car was finally fixed at the VPC with the oil pump and on its way down. The salesman sent me a recap of my order and my special order color is wrong. I ordered brilliant white and its listed as frozen white.

I think I'm gonna strangle someone!!!

Don't panic yet my friend until you see it! Frozen white is an amazing color in person!!! I don't care much for the frozen colors, but frozen white is stunning in person.. Are they asking you to pay the extra money that frozen colors cost?

Pretend you don't like the color, and ask for a discount to take it! It's a hot color one of the non common frozen colors. Good luck

If you dont like matte the color is dead in the water. I liked frozen in the pics but when saw them in the metal wasnt impressed....maybe a comment i read somewhere here about the paint looking unfinished (bc it isnt...hah) shafted me out of liking it.

A bigger issue for me is dont u have a copy of the order...with codes...from your dealer? That being said, i remember for my m3 they screwed the pooch on the interior trim....and i got an oopsie sorry...would u like to reorder? My unfortunate suspicion is they will apologize, offer to reorder ur car (sux!) but will likely not make much in the way of concessions....but u never know. I absolutely agree even if u get a raging hard on when u see the color, look and act pissed, to try to get something....but be prepared for zippo just in case.

One last thought.....after all that waiting,if ur not happy w the color, it just might piss u off for some time to come....consider not compromising but only u can make that call. Good luck.

Brutal. After all the delays, I believe they will offer you a significant compensation. It's a colossal f up.

I haven't seen it in person, but of the frozen colors, I dig that white the most.

Good luck!

Boy oh boy, thank you all for the comments. I really appreciate the support in here. I am hoping its mislabeled but I have a feeling its not. It's definitely a 5k upgrade I chose so its surely not free.

With the frozen I am worried about the clear coat missing and all the silly extra care needed when washing, no microfiber, bird sh!t ruining the paint.. For Pete's sake I have a bird (grey Congo) and god forbid he sh!ts on accident (haha trying to Joke but its not working for me)

Right the cars details says: Color 490 Special Color Frozen White 5,000.00

I really don't see how it could be brilliant....

I don't even think I would take the real frozen if they removed the 5k price tag... Wonder if it will sit at dealer unsold for a long time being frozen white and 6MT. These guys are tards at this dealer, seriously.

I ordered this car in July and it took this long. I seriously may wait for the vert m4 at this rate. God is telling me something here..... Maybe.

The pics above look amazing. But I would have the same concern as you regarding the special care required by matte colors. It would probably be a deal killer for me.

Hi,
as it's a bummer I think you might be able to make the best out of this !!
As you're in Miami keeping the frozen color clean and maintain it you
should not have any major issues (I'd have gone for Frozen Brilliant White
if I'd live in your neck of the woods ) .
Frozen is just using a "different" clear coat and actually easier to keep clean/maintain as you only need a very small number of products.
given that Brilliant White and Frozen White are at the same cost it also financially would be a wash.
I'd suggest you have a look and then decide .
I love my Brilliant White but it is a very understated color and only very few people will recognize it (99% will see it as Alpine white). So it really is the worlds most expensive white

Agree with jmh - frozen will bring exclusivity. There are a LOT of white M5s out there. Talk to member clar - he has two frozen grey BMWs and says maintenance is super easy.

If you have any concerns re: accepting the car as is, check on how involved it might be to repaint any bodywork damage, should it occur.
Good luck with your decision after seeing the car in the flesh.

OP, Frozen has clearcoat as others have mentioned, and maintenance requirements aren't actually higher. They're just different, and in fact a lot of things you can or even should do on gloss paint are actually unnecessary or harmful on Frozen paint, so as long as you throw out what you think you know about paint maintenance, you'll actually probably find yourself with less work on your hands keeping it looking great.

That said, if you don't like Frozen at all, then this won't help. But I agree that with the 490 color code, it could be mislabeled. HOWEVER, when you ordered the car you should have been required to sign a printout of your order confirming that the dealer had set it up to your exact spec -- and you should have been given a copy of that document. Do you have it so you can prove that you did in fact order Brilliant White if you decide that that's still what you want? Otherwise, the dealer could try to keep your deposit even if you reorder on the grounds that you ordered an uncommon (and expensive) color and 6MT, both of which could make the car more difficult to sell. Of course the dealer might still have their copy of your order printout, which could help your case.
