Bootmod3 what map/tune to go with

Hey guys new to the forum, I’ve been poking around for awhile but never made a post.

I have a 2016 M5 with comp pack, I did down pipes and muffler deletes the week after I got it. I’m ready to pull the trigger on bootmod3 but kinda lost on how it all works. I had a JB4 on my F10 535i with full bolt ons and meth and had nothing but issues for 3 years. I finnaly said screw it and bought the M5. So my question is what tune are you guys running? I’ve seen some people post the OTS stage two gains and it doesn’t seem to be that impressive over other dyno numbers I’ve seen. I thought about active auto works but pulling my ecu and sending them out doesn’t sound like something I’m interested in doing. Is there any members here that do custom tunning that’s been proven reliable. I blew up a 25k Gtr motor last year because of bad tunning and not looking to do with my M5.

Sorry for any spelling or grammar issues.

I would highly recommend bootmod3. I too had a n55 engine F30 335i with JB4 and FBO. I actually liked the jb4 on the F30 and decided to go with it on the M5. The car did not feel smooth on the jb4 and ultimately had fueling issues on map 2. I made the change to Bootmod3 (expensive lesson) which was everything I had desired and more.

I have the Stage 2 OTS 93

If you have 93 fuel then I would recommend that one or STage 2 OTS 91 if you only have 91 fuel.

Enjoy

Yup I agree with the post above. Ran BMS stage 1 on my car, yeah it felt faster but definitely was not smooth and consistent. Switched to bootmod3 and made world of difference and pulled way harder

You can get a custom tune loaded via BM3 from Mo (DME Tuning) or Halim Cazimi (HC Performance).

I have HCP and love it! Stage 2 with mild burble.

1- Put the car on the dyno with downpipes no tune and the car made 531WHP and 548 pounds of torque, after the tune the car made 572WHP and 658 pounds of torque, been waiting for a little over a month for the tuner to do data logs on the dyno.

now i have to replace an injector and the car has this code Protection against tampering: Program or data manipulation detected, flash it back to stock and the codes wont go away, still waiting on bootmod3 to see if this can even be fix, if they can't i will loose the warranty that i have left on the car because the flash still shows, just my two cents.

best of luck on whatever route you decide to go with!

Sounds like you have had a dodgy injector the whole time

Also I have been doing various tunes and logs over the last 1 month plus with these guys and get replies on a daily or whenever I message them, I know everyone praise there tuners! But I literally cannot fault these guys and what they have done for my car

you must try BM3 ots maps first, dont look at dyno, every car is different, check vbox or draggy time 100-200 secs then you will know if your tune worth it or not, i dont compare by dyno.. if you didnt like the ots maps then do a custom tune, good luck

Try the OTS shelf maps first, if you dont like it get a custom map.

You can also try the Active Autowerke tune, their off the shelf maps are very aggressive, they little to no room for any additional power

I'm a Mission Performance flash tune installer down here in Houston and my daily driver M5 is MP tuned to 780hp/730tq on E30. Make a day trip of it and head home with a load more power.

No removing the DME's, No tamper faults, no sketchy deals... I've flashed dozens of cars with MissionPerformance with just as many enamored clients.

Same type of question here

Ive already got a second hand BM3 license

my setup - comp package car
Catless DP
Project Gamma Intake
catback exhaust

my main goal is for a decent power gain but long daily driver life is important too
id be fine with a OTS stage 1 with some burble

car has 56k on it and just got new plugs from BMW
id rather not have to re-gap plugs for stage 2 OTS

other options?
i know i have 1 free map - so id rather try that before buying a tune from a tuner

go with bm3 stage 1 93 octane

It's safe and works with even stock cats n plugs

Any baseline pulls?

New OTS should map make around 630-680whp (STG1 93, STG2 93, STG2 RaceGas) some cars make a little more or less than others due to their fuel quality or ambient conditions
