Exclamation ► Headlights Not Turning Off

i may have a major electrical issue, hopefully not.

my headlights are always on auto position. my normal turn off procedure is:
1. push start button (radio/nav still on)
2. open door exit car
3. lock using fob or comfort access
the radio turns off, nav off, headlights off

but for some reason, my radio/nav turns off but the headlights remain on after i lock the car. i even waited half an hour to see if they will turn off but nothing.

pushing the start button twice, radio/nav turn off, lock car, but the headlights still remain on.

now i turned the headlight switch to off, and i locked the car and the radio/nav is off, however i am worried there still may be some drain on the battery going on.

would it be ok to leave like this over night or should i disconnect the terminal?

anyone experience this issue or know what the problem may be?

If the battery low warning is not coming when you enter car and switch on ignition then I wouldn't start disconnecting terminal;Sounds to me like the h/light switch off time delay may be faulty.

Or the auto sensor for the lights is not working. If the lights stay off when in the off position, and just stay in in auto, that would be my guess.

Any solution to this?!

Occasionally mine does the same.

Headlights stay on.
I unlocked the car opened the door shut it again and locked it wola but it shouldn’t mess up like so to begin with

Try pushing the stop button a second time before opening the door and exiting. That should power down the electronics at that point but when you lock the car that will be another opportunity for it to cancel the headlights. Maybe between theses two it will go off.

My USA car has headlights off when i stop the engine, leaving the angel eyes and side lights on until second press or exitting, so it's interesting that your car headlights stay on at all after cutting the engine.

Is there a coding option to where 1 long press turns off everything? My 06 had the double-tap to shut on / off, but I got it coded to where 1 long press started and stopped everything.

I do not remember seeing anything like that on any F10 coding cheat sheet that I have seen.

However both my F10's and my E60 have the everything-off-when-opening-driver-door coded which is what i like because then the music plays until i am actually ready to exit.
