F10 M5 - Getting off the line

New (ish) into my F10 and am trying to work out the best option to make a fast start.

I have managed to activate and use launch control, however I cannot see the point of the system. The car sat in first gear shredding its tyres, before selecting second gear and almost launching me off the road! A fast start it was not.

Does it sound like I am using launch control incorrectly? Or am I better off putting the car in MDM and just stamping on the throttle from stationary?

What have you found is the best option?

Thanks,
Ade.

I found same issue with launch control, it just went thru 2 gears by 20 mph.
I turn traction control off and short shift into second and use my feeling to ride the edge of traction. I found the traction control over retards fuel and is slower than using your own sense of traction feeling.

Thank you for sharing your experience and advice. Do you find moderating the throttle more effective than MDM? Keen to keep the engine on boost when getting the beast going.

Yeah, the mdm in my eyes shuts down the gas for too long and I feel like I sit there leaning forward waiting for it to apply power back to the wheels

Interested if were using launch control wrong? I mean the last thing you need to do is "pop the clutch" at 3k rpms. I'd love to find out

MDM or traction off?
Suspension full soft?
Throttle sport plus?

My presets both have MDM and S3. I haven't really tried traction off on this car.

So, to launch the car well, start off in 1st gear and feather the clutch a bit as you bite deep into the throttle... oh wait, you guys can't do that.

Hey don't tar me with the same brush .But yeah instead of just flooring it to the metal you use just enough pedal impulses for max take off, something you learn with practice. It's much easier with my extended brake pedal (see in a previous post) which i hold with my left foot and punch the loud pedal. No ones beaten me yet!!

The only solution is to get the new F90 package.

The F10 is not a drag car.
