Weistec W.4 Turbo Upgrade System

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
See Dyno updates on Post #66!

Precision is paramount, especially when creating these levels of power. That’s why we use our FARO Quantum Scanner to insure all measurements are precise and consistent prior to designing components. We use this technology to create perfect fitment, and proudly stand behind all of our products at Weistec Engineering.

BMW S63 W.4 Turbocharger Upgrade

The BMW S63 W.4 Turbochargers are complete, bolt on replacements for the stock turbochargers. There are no core charges with these turbos. No need to send in your stock turbos to get modified while your car sits in pieces waiting for the turbos to get back. Simply install the Weistec W.4 Turbochargers when you receive them. All necessary hardware is included. New turbo inlet pipes that mate up to the factory airboxes(or any bolt on aftermarket intake), and new charge pipes with integrated methanol injection ports that connect the turbos to the factory intercoolers come standard with the S63 W.4 Turbochargers. A pair of Weistec 304SS downpipes are also included to connect the turbos to the rest of the exhaust with out any cutting or welding as downpipes that are for the stock turbos will no longer fit the vehicle. Stainless braided oil and coolant lines are included with custom CNC machined and anodized fittings. It truely is a bolt on turbo upgrade that completely replaces the factory turbochargers. Even the factory engine cover still fits over the turbos.

We offer four different Garrett turbo size options to choose from: GTX3071R Gen II, GTX3076R Gen II, GTX3576R Gen II, and GTX3582R Gen II. This gives choices that range from resonable response and mid range, to all out monster top end power!

In addition to turbo size options, we also offer a Water/Methanol Injection System and Weistec Anti Surge Valves as upgrades to the W.4 Turbochargers. Couple all these upgrades with a custom tune and you have the recipe for serious power.

An Engineered Solution
The goal of the W.4 Turbocharger Upgrade was to offer bolt-on full replacment turbochargers that fit with out the need for any custom fabrication or permanent modification to the engine or chassis. Something that will let you take your M5/M6 to unreal power levels. The W.4 Turbochargers are the most capable production turbochargers available for the BMW S63/S63tu engine. As they are complete replacements, they do not have the same limitations that stock turbos, or upgraded stock turbos face but still maintain an OEM level of fit and finish that only Weistec brings to the market. This isn't a pair of universal turbos fitted to the car with a lot of cutting and welding. Its an upgrade that can be installed in a day's worth of work with typical mechanic's tools.

Key Features:

  • Choice ofGarrett Gen 2 GTX3071R, GTX3076R, GTX3576R, or GTX3582R Turbos

Looks awesome! Are these designed for stock engines or is this more for a built motor type of thing?

Our development vehicle is currently otherwise stock engine and stock clutches.

They certainly can be run on a stock engine, but to fully take advantage of their capability, supporting upgrades are required which is true of all turbo upgrades for these vehicles

Orders have been coming in and we're ramping up production to meet demand. Soon there were be plenty of cars running the W.4 turbos in various trims.

Yes sir!

The turbos start at $11,999.99. This price includes 3071 gen 2 turbos, oil and coolant lines/fittings, intake and charge piping, and downpipes!

Pricing for the options are in the drop downs on our website. If you get the 3582 turbos, meth injection, Weistec anti surge valves the total comes to $15,899.99.

http://weistec.com/all/bmw/5-series/...bo-system.html

If you already have downpipes you can sell them to someone running stock frame turbos. You could even sell your stock turbos since they are completely replaced by the W.4 turbos

Would be great to get some lower priced options for those with stock engines.....these turbos benefit built engines.....Pure turbo upgrades are the only option right now

Could you post some datalogs showing "duty cycle" of the turbo's ?
I assume your design will hold boost much longer and be able for the S63TU to be a beast !
On your website stating 1,000 - 1,700 HP is that at the crank ?
Awesome you have created turbo options for this market !
Excited to see some cars with some data posted soon

We will be offering W.3 turbo upgrades as well which will be a impeller upgrade requiring cores be shipped to us for the upgrade. Pricing will be competitive and performance will be comparable to other options on the market.

That information will be provided when possible. As mentioned earlier, our development car is currently stock engine and stock clutches so we are keeping it under 22psi. Others that will be getting their turbo kits shortly have fully built drivetrains and will really be pushing the turbos for big power.

The W.4 turbos feature an .75 A/R exhaust housing that flows much more than the factory exhaust housing. That in combination with the much higher flow capability of the 3071, 3076, 3576, and 3582 Gen 2 Garrett units will result in great top end power

The power ratings are crank figures, based on the flow capability listed from Garrett on the Gen 2 turbos. Of course, you will need a lot of supporting upgrades and octane to get close to the 1700 engine HP figure. Other platforms have done that power level with gen 2 3582 turbos.

I asked in the other thread but it didn't get a response, are you going to do built engines as part of a single package?

That is something we are considering offering, depending on how big demand is as there are already a few good options out there for getting the S63 engine built.

Please read post 12. Our vehicle is stock aside from these turbos therefor we can't push them to make big power yet.

Some big names in the BMW world will have these turbos soon on their built M5's and results will be forthcoming.
