Shifting delay in manual mode
Ok something really weird happened today. I went to downshift from 4th to 3rd after my car didn't kickdown properly, it delayed and said my car was 1/3 shift settings even after manually downshifting (its always go manual mode 3/3 every time I use the paddles). After that every time I shifted there was like a unusually long delay (about 2 seconds) between every shift. After pulling over and restarting my car everything seemed to be working normally. I had no engine lights come up so I'm hoping it was just a electrical glitch that was caused by downshifting the same time as it went to kickdown and a combination of pressing M1 button. Is it anything serious? Should I get my car looked at? it seems to run perfect now. I've had the car 3 months and done 4k miles, this is the only problem I have had, and probably just a bit paranoid.

Mind of it's own.
There are horror stories of DCT's downshifting suddenly for no reason (not exactly like your prob I know) with ensuing engine failure.A Bm check for anything amiss would be far less painful than the former.

I won't pretend to have much experience with that trans, but as a general diagnostic rule of thumb:
1.) How many miles on it 2.) When was the fluid last changed 3.) What year car, and any known computer updates performed? 4.) Any codes stored? |
