New delivery bugs

Just took delivery of a 2014 M5 and there seems to a few electronics bugs. I bought it out of state so I can't just take it back to the local dealer until their next available service which is next week.

It says I need an engine oil service and it's 20 miles past due. I only have 15 miles on the car.

Navigation just says "starting navigation" but doesn't do anything.

My phone will pair, but none of my contacts come over and BT audio won't work. I recall just hopping into a test drive with a demo car and everything synced right up. I've looked at every possible setting and it won't work. I'm using an iphone 5.

I'm assuming these are all just some software bugs and it might need a reset or update. But I don't want to hurt anything especially with an oil warning.

Anyone have this happen to them?

There is a recall on '14 5ers ... software needs to be updates for correct maintenance intervals.

Is the navigation asking for a code?

I would go in for the recall first and see if that solves the other 2 concerns just by the software update.

Sounds like the nav compute is hosed which might cause the other issues - take it back.

No, not asking for a nav code. It just sits there. Talked to the dealer who sold it and they said it might still be in transport mode.

Sounds like it just needs a reset or software update. But dealer can't see me until next week. Maybe I can get in 1200 miles before then!!

aren't the dealers supposed to check these sorts of things as part of the Pre delivery inspection?

U can update your nav yourself
U need a memory stick to download software from bmw website, then plug into glovebox and update software through settings

You might be right sir. They've re-programmed and updated and still the same issue. So now they are going to replace the head unit. We'll see.
