Cold Start Revs drop when put into gear

Hi all, might be common as im still getting used to the Gearbox but when i start cold and put it reverse or drive the car drops revs to approx 900 and then delays slightly then away we go, id say its only 2seconds before it moves but its like the car is thinking of stalling then goes. Anyone else have this or know if its a problem?

This is after the cat warm up.. so when the engine is ready to move away

you aren't supposed to put the car in gear or move it at the least until the cold start process is over ~20 seconds
