Thanks for posting your results John!
As we discussed via email, with the v2 mapping, chanced are very good that you'd have produced a bit more power than the other M5 at the dyno! The v1.2 mapping produces around 610-625HP, while the newer v2 mapping produces 655-670 (fuel quality dependent)! If anything, your dyno graph really exemplifies that hardware mods simply aren't needed on this chassis! With a properly setup tune file you're right on the heels of a full-bolt-on M5! .... and this is Stg1, vs. Stg2. -- Beyond that, Using a tune only has the added benefit of remaining smog/emissions compliant in most* cases! I've overlay your dyno plot with the other M5's plot for comparison: What would have be awesome is if the dyno operator scaled the Axis identically .... oh well. If you could, try to get me some digital versions of the plots and we'll be able to overlay these much nicer. You've got slightly better TQ management at lower engine speeds which inhibits the TQ oscillation commonly seen with a tune F10 M5. This really helps the car to feel linear while driving spiritedly - it keeps things very predictable. ~Anthony Last edited by OpenFlash; 01-19-2019 at 06:13 PM.. |

After 4500rpm that 20-30hp and 20ftlb of torque over a wide spread of rpms like this will equal a much faster car on the road uptop! But will be interesting to see what the v2 can do |

Would be interesting to compare AFR traces between the two cars. They are going to be VERY different.

When increasing engine torque by 150-200lbft, it is good practice to set the primary fuel tables to run quite rich for added knock resistance and in-cylinder cooling. I’ve run a few f10 m5s at the track to see how quickly they can death spiral when running dyno tunes. There is a reason why we run our tunes a whole point richer than AFR other tuners. |

Here some more graphs with a real overlay, and AFR trace.
... It's worth noting that the a more lean AFR target does not net additional power down low (as we touched on a few posts above). On road (especially at the track), the more lean AFR target causes the cars consistency/power delivery to swing dramatically from pull to pull. Our Stage1 tune files AFR target is the richer of the two shown. The leaner AFR is great for showing dyno results, but not as practical in application on the road. ~Anthony |

We will do some pulls next to eachother soon! It was very consistent on the dyno
I datalog it everytime I have fun in this car, and it very rarely pulls any timing on continuous pulls on the road Last edited by Pikey Motorsports; 01-24-2019 at 02:39 AM.. |

Surrey rolling Road is the only dyno I trust. Can you pls provide more info about your tune. Do I need a laptop to install those? Not been around the forum lately and never heard of open flash before. Quote:

Thanks for the advice. My only issue with evolve is that they don't have a handheld device. I don't have a laptop and I need to be able to easily install and remove the map whenever I want. |

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe BM3 has a phone app combined with a bluetooth ODB2 adapter. I'm leaning towards BM3 as well. I do have a laptop but would plan to keep a bluetooth adapter in the glovebox in case I need to read codes on the road, etc.
