What about RK Autowerks?

They developed the charge coolers and now port injection.

Carbahn vs RK?

I've had information exchanged back and forth with them. I like everything I have heard and read about them.

So far the only builder with multiple s63tu’s running well out there is Carbahn. They are expensive but they just work.

Everybody else is just Mickey Mouse and literally have < 25% of motors even starting up and idling let alone run and make any meaningful power.

Don’t drink the kool aid!
But the Kool Aid is tasty when the real stuff at Carbahn is logistically somewhat of an issue. Did you sell your motor?

Yup - was re-furbed at Carbahn and long gone. It's in Switzerland now from what I hear....

Some of these shops will do everything to take your money, but when their shit breaks; we have no idea what you are talking about.

I lost faith in many of these money stealing so called experts. Just think, apart from few big guns no one conducts big extensive research, so their customers end up being ginea pigs. As a result cars get ruined. On top of everything else, they talk s**t about one another, maybe not online, but wholly crap they talk smack in private.

I had to swallow expensive bitter pill from three different aftermarket shops.

RK Autowerkes

I would like to hear from forum members about their experiences with RK Autowerkes. I am on the fence about whether to sink25 to 30K on my M and now having second thoughts. Started seeing a few more F90's in my area and they are super nice. 30K plus the sale of my car would put me in an F90, no problem. A little left over to pay the balance but no hurry to do that.

If I was you, I would go with F90. If you going to build an engine, go with Carbahn. Extensive testing, knowledge and comes with warranty.

I know Raza personally at RK Autowerks as he help designed the charge coolers for CSF which work and fit perfectly. He knows what he's doing with building built motors, and rebuilding motors which have failed as well.

Just vouching for what I know, and what I've experienced working with him.

About 17,000 miles now, on my Carbahn Built Motor from Steve Dinan. Absolutely no issues with the motor since the day we installed it. With my new turbos, the car is running really strong. Unfortunately I just don't get enough time to drive it much any more, but when I do, man it's a blast!

I personally recommend either Carbahn or Troy Jeup for a built motor setup.

I'm around 8k miles on my Carbahn engine with no issues. I'm actually getting ready to sell it and move on to a new platform. If anyone is interested let me know it sure will save you some money if you're thinking of building one.

In addition to RK Autowerks, I also spoke to Ghassan at Ghassan Automotive. These are the 2 I am seriously considering to have my engine rebuild with.

After considering all those companies, I ended up going with Carbahn. Those are the only motors that I actually found still running with no issues at all. Mine is being built now and should be done in 4 weeks. I can provide additional feedback then.

Just curious - who is Raza. The owner of MSR is George and he has already responded to my concerns quickly.

Raza is the owner of RK Autowerks. He has always done right by me and why I run alot of his products on my M5 without issues.

Bringing this back up ok so anyone have a Arsenal Motorsports or rkautowerks motor thats over 800hp and for atleast 5-10-20k miles? Hell any builder want to chime in with customer cars?

I'm still not seeing or reading about any built motors lasting. Everyone quite or currently dealing with a motor that has blown and quietly working with the shop to fix the issue.

I have just under 10k miles on mine and no issues.

Mine is even bored out slightly (with Darton sleeves) and half a point lower compression.

My engine was not built by BPC nor Dinan (Carbahana). Both my engine and turbos were built by an engine builder in south FL. He's in the F80 M3 chat with the M3 that made 1,150 whp. He builds race engines and takes awhile, but does it right and pays attention to everything.

Car is back on the road in midst of breaking in the motor. Lost a turbo originally when this all started so lots of oil to burn off in the exhaust plus whatever was pissing in it when the valves wouldn't close from the BPC shit job. Will keep people posted when i get it broken in
