BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 4,999.00

Or Best Offer

Item Interest
Up for sale is a complete set of Carbon Ceramic Rotors for the BMW M5/M6. I purchased these as a backup set a while back but dont think I will need them as I dont drive much anymore. I will post rear weight measurements in a couple days.

Front Rotor 1 Weight: 7946 g (minimum weight: 7830 g)
Front Rotor 2 Weight: 7922 g (minimum weight: 7810 g)

They came off an F10 M5 with 20k miles. I would prefer local pickup in SO CAL.

To quote the BMW CCB Technical Bulletin :

“To operate Ceramic Brakes properly Bmw states that a complete Brake Kit is required not just the disc’s and calipers (you must install the specific Bmw Brake Booster as well).”

“Also Ceramic Brake disc’s if not handled properly and/or are subject to stone/physical damage can render them structurally unsound and subject to catastrophic failure.”

I wasn't trying to sell them as a retrofit kit, just all 4 rotors only. Great for someone who wants to save some $$$ on replacement rotors.

CCB Wear

“Over in the M2 forum we've been having a debate on the pro's and con's of CCB's. I mentioned that besides the visible CCB wear indicators you also must disassemble and weigh the ceramic rotors - for wear. Its not necessary to do that now - although there is a min ccb weight loss of 100 gram per rotor. Here are some interesting pdf's on checking for wear on CCB brakes. “

Can you use them with regular blue calipers or you have to have gold ones?

You would have to have the gold calipers, CC Pads, and a couple other things to swap to CCB
