Curious how your powder coat is holding up. I was strongly advised against powder coating and going the ceramic coating route for the exhaust tips due to the risk of them peeling off under high heat.

Also, did you remove your YT videos? Trying to see how they turned out.

Hey bud, never made any YouTube videos. Not sure just installed the powder-coated tips and haven't driven the car, it's away for the winter. I don't think heat will be any issue, my guy would have said something and people powder coat their brake calipers. The exhaust tips won't get anywhere near those temps

Thanks - and that is exactly what I thought (re: brake calipers).

I also happen to be on the Porsche forum and that is where the advise came from. They all swear by ceramic coating and not powder coating the tips since many who had them complained of them peeling off within a year's time. Not sure if there is much difference between the temperatures of the exhaust tips between two cars though.

PS - I do not want to start a Porsche vs. BMW here. Just trying to get the right advise to make a decision. I know the two cars are different in every way but for the exhaust tips and the situation - should be very similar.

I totally hear you, I will let you know how they hold up. Ceramic coating is great for exhaust especially the headers as it keeps the heat inside the tubes which increases scavenging and keeps under hood temps down. But as far as the tips I would say should be good either way. I'll follow up on this once I get some time on the exhaust and see how they are holding up.

Caught in the rain right after a wash...

Just washed and sealed it the day before. Typical unpredictable NW weather = light rain even though not forcasted (2016 M5 Comp "Ultimate Package" from Canada)

I got mine from jbspeed.com. It's the full grill, not just inserts

Ickdeep, you should catalog your pix. I think you got a high quality one for every sq/inch.

Throw it into a pdf, for me to enjoy.

Fitted the larger brake caliper M transfers like on yours, the originals were just too small.

What brand did you go with? Any squealing? Any impact on your stopping distance?

Swapped out a flat yesterday. Nothing like losing tire pressure at 90 mph. Thankfully the tire pressure warning system did its job and I was able to pull off the highway to safety before it went completely flat. One benefit of keeping my OEM set was having a full-size on hand to swap.

Sucks... Glad you were able to get it worked out though safely.

Wow glad you reined it in ok.I guess you made a call and someone brought your original spare with the jack and tools.Definitely worth keeping your other set in these circumstances
