Need help: Backup Camera Screen Black and Bluetooth

Wondering if anyone has had these issues:

-Backup camera and all surrounding cameras have gone dark. Dealer says they need to order a "video switch" which has to come from Germany. (After part and labor will be over $2000). Has anyone had this issue? All of the forward and backup sensors still work but no video when it comes to backing up or side views. I've tried looking up the issues on the net, youtube, other forums, and nothing..

I have seen videos where people order used parts off of the same vehicles (model and year) and have had success swapping them with no coding needed. Wondering if anyone has tried this.

also,

Bluetooth matter: When I make a call I can hear the person talking and stream media but when I speak, they cannot hear me. Nothing. I've read that this could be a bad microphone or bad combox?

If anyone can chime in any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You can buy correct video switch. It doesnt need any coding.
Check your microphone first

Yeah, I just purchased a used switch from a used parts seller from ebay. Hopefully that does the trick.

I also bought 2 microphones from a parted out m5.

Gonna swap it all out tomorrow.

Dealer prices. I hope the above fix solves the issue.. I only ever use the rear camera. I think the side cameras are more for lane departure and blindspot monitors.

So, I purchased a new switch and microphones and no go. Car has been with the dealer for over a month now and the foreman took over the diagnosis and has been working with BMW on the issue. Talked to my SA who told me the head unit may need to be replaced but they're still running tests.

I wonder if there is an aftermarket setup I can use or replace the head unit with a used one of the same type. I don't think these things are coded to the car as well?

A month is a while without car, I'd be going Seems to me dealer is stumped on what to do also, if he is guessing then going aftermarket may be the way to go if costs are going through the roof.
See what BMW NA? say about it first,,

Talked to my SA this past week who told me that I will need a new head unit. She also told me that she was working with BMW to see if they would do some "goodwill" stuff to knock down the price.

In the meantime I hit up bimmer-tech who said that they could do the NBT Evo retrofit for $2499 for the hardware and remote coding would be included. Minus installation of course.

We will see what happens. My concern is that if they misdiagnose the head unit and I go with bimmer-tech and its a different issue, I will be at square one.

This sounds way too expensive. I went the ebay route and got a OEM NBT Evo headunit and touchscreen for $1500. sure it was used but coded to my car and worked fine. when first installed, my backup camera didn't work but the seller remoted into my car and coded it to "parkmaster 2" and worked from then on. No extra parts, changing pins, etc. I would think prices have come down and let me know if you need more information. GL

Do you still have the seller's info? did they do the coding remotely?

Yes - sent you a PM on the seller
Yes - i provided my VIN when purchasing so arrived coded to my car. backup camera didn't work so subsequently was able to remote in and code to "parkmaster 2" to get it to work.

So, got all call from the SA who said that she spoke with BMW and they agreed to cover all of the labor and I would just pay for parts. I opted to go for this option as I plan on keeping the car for another year or so and jump into the current gen M5. Also, the repairs will be warrantied for 2 years.
