M5 Gamma Intakes

Curious if anyone is running Project Gamma Intakes on their M5? My set just arrived and it will be a few weeks before everything gets installed and flashed.
I had them send a pair of the mesh filters along with the paper. Mesh sounds about as close to MSR as you can get but they don't recommend it for daily driving and you can definitely see why.
Gamma has plenty of sound clips with their mesh filters in, but I cant seem to find a good one with paper. Let me know what you think or if anyone has sound clips of paper filters.

The infamous MSR disaster thread I believe concluded with everyone realizing the OP was running Mesh filters overseas, i think S.A., but I could be wrong.

I'm running their intakes but decided to go with K&N filters. I have no issues infact drove through a snow storm, rain storm from NJ to Indiana without any problems. I daily mine and have piece of mind at the moment.

Yep you can defiantly hear the turbo spool and I've had plenty of people tell me how menacing it looks in their rear view mirrors.

I was curious what size filters you purchased to fit the gamma tubing? I havent unboxed anything yet.

Can you run your car through a car wash with these? I'd imagine pressurized water from the front could really destroy a filter?

I don’t recommend it or pressure washing without covering them up

I wouldnt recommend running your car through a car wash regardless of having intakes or not. The paper filters have been proven to be ok in rain, snow, etc... but the fact remains that if you can keep them out of it then it would be best to do so. Mesh is another story.

I wanna say 3.5". The paper filters Gamma sends has adapter rings for 3" - 4". The mesh filter doesnt have it and its measuring out to about 3.5".

Have you tried a paper type filter on your intake system?

I asked project_gamma through instagram if there is any significant sound difference between paper type and mesh type, but he never gave me a clear answer....

I haven't installed anything yet. They told me on IG that the sound is almost the same, but they are going to say that anyway. The paper filter they provide is from Spectre. There are a couple of people on here that have said they have switched to K&N.

This link is to the conical filter list by sizes: https://www.knfilters.com/search/univcone.aspx

The Spectre filter they send is about 3.8" in length. I haven't gotten a for sure answer on how long of a filter can be fit, but I am assuming maybe a 5 or 6". The tubing calls for a 3.5" flange.

I take my car to the self service car wash or pressure wash at home. Don't be an idiot and just blast the filters with water and you'll be fine.

He sends you an aluminum tube that slides into the end of the intake and then the other end slides to the filter, if you order the K&N filter that i did - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

it comes with a clap to tighten it to the metal tube.

I've had two different shops work on my car, one took the grills out and installed with no problems, the other took the bumper off as they felt it was easier that way and didn't require the possibility of breaking the grills.

thanks for the links. if 7 inches on that filter fits decently then thats great and opens up a few more choices. do you think another inch maybe 8 or 8.5 would fit? I have the aluminum piece you were mentioning as well.

I was hoping to get black filters. k&n has a one that I think will work but it's pretty long, 8.75". link below.
