Just remove the carbon filters, and you will see an improvement. Even muscle cars are using ducting to pull cool air from front of the car under the grill, or off the windshield.
Go figure... Performance is what counts.
Stock Intakes are good but not as good as front mounted filters

mine came with mesh filters, they kinda rusted a little but never bothered me

I got a set of paper filters as well but I haven't switched them yet.

I believe mesh sounds louder, but paper has better filtering.

Where abouts do you live and how long have you had them installed? Gamma has plenty of sound clips showing them off, but they don't seem to be the first choice for running all the time due to the lack of filtration.
