Drivetrain malfunction smoke and gas smell

I was doing a pull this morning from 80-120 and in the middle the car misfired pretty badly and all I could see was smoke.

When I pulled over the smell of gasoline was extremely Strong. The car would turn on and off and idle terribly.

After a few minutes it became OK enough to get where I needed to be.

I'll be taking it to dealer today or tomorrow .

I'm thinking injectors since the gas smell

What you guys think I have 75k miles original injectors and coils

I'm going to go with fuel pump is most likely your culprit. Could be injector(s), but fuel pump sounds more likely. GL

I'm guessing injectors too if you can smell gas. I think injectors are covered up to 10 yrs/100k miles now? Forgot what the letter from bmw said....

So the dealer had a loaner and everything ready for me.

Car was fine in one hour of traffic as soon as I hit the highway the car turned off. The gas smell was crazy smelled like pure gasoline was pouring out the vents and it was literally pouring out the exhaust.

Lucky for me the highway is in nyc with no shoulder so I had to keep restarting and limping the car while it kept turning off and losing all power steering. The motor was shaking like crazy and knocking was loud. Limped two miles to an exit making a smoke screen while everyone flipped me off

I managed to take a side exit and been waiting for a tow for the last two hours.

I'm really disappointed in the car today. It's been really good to me but this was out of the blue. No mods no nothing.

Seeing all the engine threads I wouldn't even doubt this didn't cause some sort of internal damage and who knows when that'll show face

Good luck bud! While its in the shop make sure they change the oil too no matter what is wrong with the fuel system.

Dealer called me today they replaced my coolant turbo lines because they were leaking

They replaced 4 injectors, 4 plugs and 1 cool.

All covered by the extended warranty

I hope the car okay, will be doing full oil change when I get it back and sending oil for analysis.

i was told by the dealer that the lines are a common issue once you hit higher mileage. i just had my coolant turbo lines replaced as well, and upper/lower oil pan gaskets replaced due to leaks. my car is CPO so i lucked out on a (supposed) 8-9k bill.
