New owner, M5 sounds rubbish :(
Hi
Recently bought an M5 and i'm very happy with her, it does everything i want (perfect daily). What i'm a bit unhappy about though is the sound, currently have a Remus back box (rest is stock) and it just doesn't sound all that great... Is there any way i can get this to sound better/louder when in m mode? I'm due for a stage 1 tune in a few weeks so can get any exhaust work done at the same time. Thanks |

Downpipes, full exhaust, stage 1 tune that has reliable burble mod and enjooooy 🎻🎻🎻
I have ESS tune and the burble is very minor only on downshifts which makes you wanting more. I recommend a tune that has burble when you're at a high rpm and let off the gas. The tune however is pretty good. If burble isn't your thing just get a normal tune. |

Regarding downpipes, i thought decat downpipes means stage 2 tune? Been quoted £1500 for the decat downpipes and stage 2 so might go for this then. |

Go stage 1 it's safe and makes a lot of power. My exhaust is pretty expensive but if you can afford it you won't regret. It literally sounds like a formula one car inside of a garage. If you can't, remove the resonators and you'll get additional sound as well. |

I may run a bpm stage 1 as its a true obdII flash that is modifiable and removable/switchable back to oem. i personally enjoy the stock power. i have sport4s michelins and it still is just a handful but i know if i had lesser tires it would have already been wrecked |

Iv spoken to a number of tuners who all say it's not possible to get pops and bangs without going the decat downpipes route.
Is this true or are they trying to just make me spend more money? |

It's all in the tune. I had OEM downpipes with burble tune and I could hear them. Not as loud as I wanted tho..

Decided to go Stage 2 with decat downpipes, hopefully this wakes the car up a bit. Feels a bit...boring at the moment. My old M4 felt much better to drive, maybe i should have gone for an F80 M3 but hoping i'm wrong and a stage 2 will make some noise
