Hoping somebody has an idea of where the source code be coming from, coolant is leaking between the mating surfaces of the block and transmission. Any wizards have seen this before?

Yeah, I have seen it before, too many times.
Engine and trans will need to be dropped. There is a coolant plate on the back of the block behind the flywheel. Part number is 11148483799 IF you find oil leaking at the plate as well, from the oil core plug behind the cover, you must use part number 11142446298. This updated part has an extra sealing surface to permanently patch the galley plug. PS: Nice collection of cars! I've also got an 01' 740i, and 13' 335i. An E70 X5m is something I've been looking for as well Ahahah |

Hello, Just to follow up this issue the coolant leak was below the Alternator at the y pipe connection. I replaced the part with this and we should be good for another 178,000 miles Genuine BMW 17127589731

Boy, I was far off (thankfully!!!)
I'm glad it was simple. Should have done the brass Y upgrade. When those fail the coolant doesn't generally find itself within the bellhousing, interesting! |
