BMW F10 M5 Ring Taxi Makes Preliminary Debut at M Festival. Rides Begin 2012
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW F10 M5 Ring Taxi Makes Preliminary Debut at M Festival. Rides Begin 2012 Yet another highlight comes in from the ongoing M Festival. Following M Night, which saw the exciting introductions of the BMW M3 CRT and the 2012 BMW M5 (F10), BMW has now teased their new M5 Ring Taxi for 2012 during the M Corso yesterday. As most M enthusiasts know, BMW has been offering their famous Ring Taxi for years: for roughly 200 EUR, you and two friends can have quite the experience and enjoy a lap on the famous Nurburgring, driven by a professional BMW Driving Experience driver. The E60 M5 served as Ring Taxi in recent years, up until this year as the end of the E60's production made BMW make the switch to an E90 M3. And if you're wondering how fast the F10 M5 will be able to take you around the Nurburgring? Reports are that it can lap the track in as little as 7:55. However, the E90 M3 and its Ring Taxi duty is only temporary. From next year on, BMW will again use an M5 as the Ring Taxi. These photos not only reveal what it will look like but also show how stunning Monte Carlo Blue is on the new M5 under natural lighting. No matter if it's the Ring Taxi or a customer car, we believe that Monte Carlo Blue will be the signature color to own for the new M5. You can also see the M3 CRT and its color Frozen Polar Silver at daylight. As if that wasn't enough, an 1M Moto GP Safety Car served as the pace car for the M Corso parade. This lineup was heaven for any M enthusiast. Enjoy the photos! |

Sorry if this was posted somewhere but i didn't see it. Was there a time for the e90M3 lightweight unit? I noticed it in the pics just curious what it did compared to the regular e90M

There is a video of where these pics were taken, and Sabine was revving the F10 M5 (with the exhaust butterfly valve closed), then got into the drivers seat and closed the door.
Read a bio on Sabine, she grew up driving on the ring, and was the E60 M5 taxi driver. There's a 7:55 time, and I think maybe it was here that got that record... She knows the track well, probably better than most. Just a guess on the driver for the 7:55 lap though. Check out the video.. |

Sabine has a new job working for Nissan at the 'Ring. Btw... the current price for the 'Ring Taxi is 195 euros. Tickets are sold out months in advance! Up to three people can go for a three lap ride. One lap = 22Kms = 140 (plus+) turns. Dackel |

Would have gone with 19" but the roads here dont allow it
15mm spacers in the back nothing in the front. Wanna do 10mm in the front but dont have 10mm spacers with the inner circle on which the wheels stand. Without it i feel some wheel wobble M wheel stitching done for about 100 bucks. Loving the gloss diffuser in the back much more then matte. What you guys think? |
