Text msg/email issue. Help!

Hey guys, Just got into a 2014 CP
And wanted to see if anyone could help me figure out how to make the text messaging and/or
Emails appear on the iDrive display, and/or have it read in the speakers.....
Any help would be greatly appreciated......

I believe that it only works with Android phones where it will read text message and email to you.

Wow. Is that really true? Does that mean there is no iPhone user that is able to utilize this feature?
Coding perhaps??

Coding isn't going to help. Even Blackberries work better then Iphones in this regard

It works just fine with iPhone. You just need to enable "notifications" on your iPhone so it sends the messages over to your iDrive. But I'm pretty sure it only does txt/iMessages.

Correct. When I get a message I go to the Office menu and select messages. You can then select it to have it read the message.

I am sure this is on the forum somewhere... How do I get my Samsung Note 4 Android to send TXT and email to the idrive? Do I need Connected drive?

I have notifications all turned on but I do not get text messages on my iDrive. I have an iPhone 5S with iOS 9.3.5.

All functions work on my Blackberry so I do have the option set up correctly in my car.

What iPhone and iOS version are you or what else did you have to do in order to get SMS messages to work?
