Well, you can go to SIXT for the same price (WHEN one day only) and have it all the day - 150KM though. If you take it for 4-5 days it's around 150€/day

Nice writeup/story.

Btw... BMW on Demand also has a frequent rental program. I think it's rent/pay for four hours and get two hours free. And it doesn't have to be all at one time. So your two hours you paid for count! Just a thought IF your in the (Welt)neighborhood.

Ferrari's Museum is cool. I liked the new Enzo Museum better in Modena. There is also the old Ferrari Museum in Maranello. Don't bother with the bus factory tour... the bus never stops and its kind of a ripoff. Check out my ED link under my sig. Also... there are three or four private places that rent our Ferrari's next to their Museum in Maranello.

Thanks buddy!! I had no idea anything like that existed. RelayRides seems awesome if it is as easy as it sounds.

Cool story kiddo! When I was a kid (and still today) I didn't dream about 4 door executive looking, subdued, over priced big cars that pipe exhaust noise into their cabins for effect....I wanted to drive Lambo's, Ferraris, and mostly Porsche's.

Cool dad for breaking BMW rules and letting you drive! -1 for street racing and teaching you that's ok to do. -1 for actually racing an e46 M as well.

+10 for being 17 and being able to write and express your passion so eloquently for BMW! Pretty rare these days!

Cheers homie

Thanks for the advice! I think were going to the old museum, I believe we are going to Maranello.

Thanks I really appreciate that! I do have quite a passion for BMW, but planes will always be #1.

Yeah, the 150KM is a killer. The Welt rental comes with 450KM for their two rental periods.

Awesome, 4 more years of hard work in college and then another 5-6 more years of extra hard work towards your career and you can reward yourself with an m5. Unless, you are classified as a trust fund baby, your family is loaded and they buy an m5 for a 17 yr old or you can always pretend like few people here that your dad's car is actually yours.

The newer Enzo Museum is only 20 minutes away on Modena.

Also Lambo Museum is close by 25 minutes and also the Panni Museum with lots of cool old Italian cars. Quite a few rare Maserati's there. All are in my ED museum guide.

No I'm DEFINITELY not one of those people. I do like working for things that I want. I worked for about 2 years to pay for half my car (my parents said they would double whatever I made).

It was a great way to spend time with him, especially when the Germans are loose with the *cough* drinking age *cough*.

Haha, good man.

I grew up in Europe and the drinking laws are non existent.
I do love their driving manners on the Autobahn. No priuses clogging up the fast lane.

That's okay. It is important you earn it yourself. Nobody deserves to drive their Dad's M5 or one their Dad paid for.
