JNOSOL's SG F10 M5 - RW Carbon Build

Hey guys... I just joined the M5 club. The second BMW I've owned was a 2011 535i, it was one of my favorite BMWs of all time. When I had an F10 535i, I always wished I had the M5 which looks so much better (and faster). 8 BMWs later, from 750Li to M3 to 6GC, I'm back to square one with the F10. Now I'm settled with a Donington Grey X5M and Singapore Grey M5 in stable.

IG: JNOSOL

I have the M5 for 6 days now, first mod was vinyl wrapping the side markers and door handles. DIY thread:
http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthr...1#post19594531

Last night, RW Carbon Fiber Center Diffuser came it. The 2x2 weave looks amazing, super light, and it's made of 100% carbon fiber.

I pulled the whole OEM diffuser out to get to the center diffuser. The whole thing is held by 3 T27 bolts and 4 pop buttons. To pull the whole diffuser out, I pulled from the outside first. It was super easy to come out.

I swapped out the diffuser and everything snapped in perfected. Fitment is top notch. On the difficulty scale of 1-10, this was a 3.

More RW Carbon parts coming soon. Enjoy the photos.

For this price, all M5 owners should consider this mod. This looks almost OEM, great lines and it complements the M5 rear perfectly. It's not overwhelming, just tasteful.

You can tell Matt RW Carbon I sent you. He'll take care of you.

P.S. I'm sure RW copied another brand's product (probably RKP and CHALLENGE replica here). I can care less, they make quality products at a reasonable price. I don't support M Tax companies. I had their diffuser on my X5M, it lasted through the winter with snow and salt. Fits perfectly, looks perfectly, and performs perfectly.

Thanks,
Jimmy

Day 7 of owning an M5, I installed the M Performance LCI Grilles. GetBMWParts was the lowest place I could find them, shipped for $302 total.

Installation was simple, DIY by LACSTER : http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=422572

Product: http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

The transformation of the front with the grilles alone is amazing.

Hey...question. Which do you prefer and like better, the x5m or m5? Can you detail their differences and pros and cons? Im looking to get actually one of these vehicles. Was curious to hear from an owner of both models. Thanks!!!

X5M Pros: Sleeper, Updated Interior, and AWD.
X5M Cons: Lack of after market parts, not easily recognized as an M car, and heavy.

M5 Pros: Easily recognized as an M car, lots of after market parts, and RWD (fun)
M5 Cons: Dated interior, Dispay isn't as sharp, and not as luxurious

Here's how I can sum it up. I drove my X5M to a car meet 2 weeks ago. Only 2 people realized that it's a special car and took photos of it. The stock Mazda Miata next to the X5M was getting more crowd traffic and more photos.

I brought my M5 into service to check on a few things yesterday. As soon as I pulled up, the SAs and people waiting quickly surrounded the car. They know immediately it's a special BMW. I also gotten more thumbs up with the M5 in the past 7 days then I did with the X5M in months. Clearly, the M5 wins the exterior look and people's choice award.

The X5M acceleration is no slouch. It can easily do 0-60 in 3.8s and finish the quarter in 12s flat. Also, did you know the X5M has the same Nurburgring time as an E92 M3 of 8m05s? So if you want a sleeper, fast, and luxurious car, then X5M is it.

If you like going to car shows/meet and maybe track once a year, then I recommend the M5. The M5 does real well at high speed tracks, like COTA. Vs an X5M, some clubs don't allow SUVs enter track events. Even if you could enter, you'll kill a set of tires in one day.

If you track more than 1-2 weekend per year, then look into the F80 M3. I had an F80 M3, I really really loved it.

Thanks for this thread, nice to see a local company putting a good quality product/price.

I'm going to be getting 2nd M5 (had a 2013) and would like to acquire the front lip spoiler (center section one).

Great write up ... I agree the updated grill makes a night and day difference.

If I didn't get the bad ass deal on my Vorsetiner diffuser, I'd definitely be going this route. RW makes some great products.

Here is the full diffuser I picked up

Let me add "DCT" , "Steering" and "Handling" to the M5 pros. Also, because of these three (and lower center of gravity) M5 is about 10 seconds faster (than X5M) over the ring...
To me X5M is too heavy and that's why even with a more powerful engine and more torque beside the AWD is still slower than M5 in term of 0-60 or even 1/4 mile + trap speed

Jnosol, is the m5 slightly different in styling on the exteriorof compared to regular 5 series? Like flared sides or etc? Of course you got the bumpers and all. Like an m3, it has the flared psnels...cf roof...hood power bulge. Not sure m5 has these types of differences. Can you please chime in? I couldn't quite see anything from one of the m5s i saw on the street while driving by. Thanks!

Here's a good thread:
http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=736825

The M5 is wider, front and rear. Bumpers, fenders, brakes, wheels, mirrors, and exhaust are very different. As for performance, it's night and day difference. From the suspension, to DCT, power, and to braking.
