Odometer Issue!!

Has anyone had dash odometer / mpg / trip counter issues?
Basically the counter isnt counting, so mpg and trip wont either! Only had car 3 weeks, but its been 1-2 weeks when ive noticed this intermittent issue.
BMW will get back to me Monday after a call today. Puzzling!

Going in to BMW next week. They reckon its got a mileage blocker. Hoping to confirm this and send the car back to the garage i got it from for a full refund

Bit gutted as car is amazing but i dont want a tampered disingenuously driven car.

Basically ive drafted up a letter to reject the car for a full refund due to the Misrepresentation Act and CGA 2015 due to mileage tampering device.

Its a shame but im hoping to send this M5 back. Will take my time in the new year looking again.

Hopefully the garage will be amicable.

Will be going in tuesday. Is it possible to pull the exact mileage off other sensors/chips etc if odometer gets blocked??

Regardless if it has or not. The mileage isnt true so car has to go unfortunately.

The car had a mileage blocker. No true mileage achievable. BMW confirmed all. The garage i bought it from didnt want to know as i rejected car.

The finance company (Hitachi) in the end gave me all my money back and im just awaiting some expenses to come back! Not sure why its taking so long. They have been great to be fair with me! If i paid cash this would have been all on my shoulders which would have meant lawyers letters etc etc

Hitachi will take the case up with RS Direct (Bristol), last i heard the M5 is in storage somewhere in Swindon!

Sorry to hear your story. Can they find real mileage somewhere or somehow? How much car was driven? I mean how much in odometer?

Not possible to get actual mileage, BMW did try but the device filters the mileage on odometer to ALL the ecus! Its nuts! New form of clocking the cops say. Had 39k on clock 63 plate, reckon it may have had up to 10k more maybe?!? Just dont know. And unsure how well it was maintained due to that.

1st owner was Alphabet lease company. So more than likely fitted then? However you would think 2nd owner would have clocked on and removed it.
RS Direct sold it me with it attached, if they knew or not wasnt my problem, its a tampered car.
There was a point where the prev owner car did 1k miles in 6mths, and the garage said "it wasnt his only car". Everything looked ok apart from that.
I didnt know these devices existed then, maybe more people need to be aware in this day and age of pcp and leases.
