This issue was big time annoying me, I tried starting in many different modes....the way I have found to get the ///M animation to show consistently is that during a drive of the car, keep the car in one of the ///M modes, then turn the car off while still in an ///M mode. When you start it again the next time, it should show the ///M animation!

lololol. OK this is getting ridiculous now. Does no one really know the answer to this dilemma? Well what I've honestly found is that the Navigation screen will come up if I accept the disclaimer before the Navi system has had a chance to boot up completely. As for the M splash display....mine seems to come up every time the car has been completely powered down for a while. i wonder if anyone else has any answers.

Every once in a while, I will get the "M" animation on the navigation when I start the car (which is how I know its there in the first place) but it seems to be completely random and unrelated to the amount of time the car has sat. Also, it makes no difference whether I lock the car or leave it in my garage unlocked.

In contrast, I always get the "M" graphic on the HUD on my morning startup.

It's obviously not a big deal but seriously, what gives?
Honestly I have never noticed the M graphic on the HUD screen. I guess I'm never looking at the HUD screen at startup. Will have to check for that now specifically.

Did anyone manage to code this?

Was it to set startup to Aktiv?

I don't think this is a coding thing. From my experience it seems to have more to do with how quickly you press the start button after opening the driver's door. The M Animation seems to come up while the system is booting, a process that starts once you open the driver's door. So if you wait 10 to 20 seconds to push the start button after getting in the car you will not see it as the system has had enough time to boot up.

BTW, I've still never seen the city scape that says the NAV system is booting.

It seems the above is miscorrect. There is no start_up or anything similar as far as I can find in HU_NBT.

I did find "HEAD_BOOT_UP_TIMEOUT" which is described as "timer nachdem spaetestens Laufende Gesprache nach aufstart Im fahrzeug gefuhrt werden konnen (syncmarker)"

Current value wert_15 werte=0F (15 seconds). I increased this to 30 seconds (werte=1E), however it didn't seem to have any effect. When I started the car it went straight to the navigation with no bootup sequence.

I did see items called shutdown_timer1 and shutdown_timer2. I do wonder if these might be it, but I suspect it may require both a shorter shutdown and longer boot up.

Either way, I am at my wits end here. I am beginning to wonder if wdimagineer has really been able to pull this off. He's not chiming in. Also haven't heard anything from chrisratz who also said he was going to code this.

If anyone has the answer, please show me the light!

Wdimagineer said there is a field to increase startup delay for nav. If we can find that in coding, we can fix this. He also said there is a HUD startup field. However I always get the M logo in the HUD.

Maybe HUD_START_UP_SCREEN_ANZ_ZEIT , haven't tried it yet or verified it does actually exist in the F10 CAFD . It is supposed to be in seconds
I might take the car out of winter hibernation and have a look tomorrow

Isn't this the 'new' idrive system from F10's built after June/July 2012?

Cheers Craig

I was going to make a thread about this also haha.

Today when I started my car I was reminded that I coded in the M animation that rarely ever actually appears. Would make sense that it only shows when starting the car after a certain amount of time once the driver has gotten in the car. Will test this tomorrow and get back to you guys.

Would be awesome to make it work every time guaranteed though.

EDIT: Thinking that it might have something to do with how you unlock the car also.

No luck. Didn't drive the car for a couple weeks straight and still no animation. The navigation animation appears almost everything though... Anyone manage to sort this?
