Great episode, I picked up a couple of car washing tips. He had mentioned something about taking the B7 to Buchloe and doing a dyno session, I hope he's able to do those still. I'd be very interested in dyno numbers. Alpina rated the car at 493hp, but one of the press cars back in the day did over 510.

I watched a few episodes but I was ultimately appalled with some of the techniques he used, as well as the lack of proper tools/machinery.

In my opinion he is more of a youtuber/entertainer and less of a seasoned mechanic. I wouldn't have bought a car from him even if God himself would inspected it.

This guy - as well as the other idiot of Matt Armstrong - is doing a disservice at the community of the automotive professionals.

You simply can't restore a car without removing the engine and properly inspecting it from the bottom up. You can't fix spark plugholes with helicoil. You can't change rod bearings without lifting the car up on the ramp in a well illuminated and aired garage.

The other one was trying to fix an M5 and straigthen the front body frame without the properalignment tools and knowledge. How can you trust they know what they are doing? Do they have any licences or proven knowledge/certificate by any school or experience as mechanics working at commercial garages?

How can they put their hands on people's cars doing restorations and repairs publicly on the internet without any legal disclaimers in place? Are they insured?

Sorry but I am not interested in watching amateurs making money out of peoples' passion for cars. Not for me.

This tells me all I need to know about you.

I don't think Sreten ever claimed to be a pro mechanic - he often points out that he's self-taught and finds himself in a very privileged position. I do get bemused by some if the things that he does (and then doesn't do), but I'd buy a car from him any day because I trust 100% that he'd make right anything that went wrong, or be very up-front about potential issues.

You can't fix a spark plug hole with helicoil with the valve cover on, leaning like an ape on top of the engine bay. This is what he did and I called him out. You need to do things properly if you are to exhibit your work publicly or accept the critisism. This is why in the end he sent the engine to a specialist.

He doesn't accept critisism because he is a stubborn know-it-all defiant Serbian guy and that tells me a lot about his mentality and work ethos. No German would do what he does. They wouldn't dare. But he does it and takes pride in it. Congratulations.

Know a lot about Germans and Serbs, do you?

In any case, where have you seen Sreten not taking criticism? Or saying he knows everything? Genuinely curious as I've never come across that in his videos or the one interview with BMW Classic or the one post I could swear I've seen from him somewhere here, but can't find now.

Indeed I know a lot about them. Thank you.

Among other things, I asked him once why doesn't he remove the engine out of the bay to work on it properly. His response was "it was not needed, it's not necessary and I know what I am doing". I said I don't doubt you know what you are doing but you started with an aim to service the car and in the end you tore it apart which proves my point. Wouldn't it be simpler if you removed the engine and proceed? His response "have you ever tried to lift an engine with a 4 point jack" or whatever he uses. I said no I haven't and I was wondering why don't you use a crane to do it simpler. His response "I don't have the space to fit a crane in". OK - point taken. I will pass.

Reading your salty, false comments, I have to chime in. I do take constructive criticism, I wasn't born knowing everything, but I hate smart-ass, I-know-better-then-you-trolling comments like yours that have nothing better to do, but shit on other people's work.

Who are you to me call me an ape and an idiot? As well as Matt Armstrong? You don't like what we are doing? Cool, then pass on the videos and keep your unfounded opinions to yourself instead of going around and calling me (us) out.

This comment shows you know nothing about me or how I work.

I never once claimed, and never will, to be a seasoned mechanic. I am self-taught, I've owned over 50 BMWs, been working on them for years and I know my way around them.

I started off with basic tools in a plastic tray in the back of my E39, working in underground garages, parking lots, driveways... and worked my way to where I am now. So, no, I don't always have the special tool for a particular job, but I'm developing and expanding as I work and learn.

What people's cars? More of your baseless accusations. I strictly work only on my own cars, I am not a mechanic and would never want to deal with customers or deadlines.

I can restore the car however I see it fit.
Indeed, you can't repair spark plug threads with Helicoil, but you can with Time-serts which is what I used and turned out just fine.
I don't understand the rod bearings remark, you clearly mixed some things up. And no, you don't need a ramp to do them, it's not rocket science.

Nah, you are only in the business of being a smart-ass and posting stuff that only you imagined.

Timesert, not Helicoil. Completely different thing. And yes, it can be done.
I'm sorry, what? I had to send that engine to a specialist? Would love to hear where you saw that.
That engine worked perfectly after the repair and I never sent it to anyone.

What does my nationality have to do with anything? In fact, why would you even bring that up?

What you do know is to make things up and twist facts. I'm perfectly capable of determining when the engine needs to come out or not, based on my situation and plans with the car. I've never had to take an engine out after I serviced it.
I took my time to nicely explain this to you, which was a time well spent I see, as here you are taking a dump over me and, of course, acting to be an expert and to know better.

I have one of the best audiences and communities on YouTube, where people actually help each other and share information that helps us keep these cars on the road. Not argue and insult each other because you saw something you didn't like.
I try to read most of the comments, even though it's physically impossible as there are thousands of them on each video. A lot of times, people will share useful new tips in the comments regarding a particular job, or remind me if I missed something or done something wrong. I do everything alone and do a million things at once and mistakes can happen, but I learn from them and keep them to a minimum. Doing things properly, not taking shortcuts and hacking things up is the backbone of my videos and how I work.

You have serious issues to work out, my tiny friend. Being this angry and negative towards another person you've never even met or know anything about (which you nicely proved) is not healthy.

Everyone else, thank you so much for the nice words and comments!

Good for you to chime in. Your followers will be pleased with your response. You just cancelled me

Actually, I passed on your videos because I never took a liking to your attitude nor your approach to restorations and repairs. After reading your lengthy response here, I also realised you are a rude and uneducated individual.

Not surprising at all. Quite the opposite, I have to say.

Anyway, this is not important. Everybody else in this forum are singing your praises, so good luck with whatever you do as long as you stay away from cars please. Try the Legos instead.

You're completely oblivious to your own rude and uneducated behavior, going around calling other idiots, ape and spreading false information for no good reason, other than spite and, evidently, jealousy.
Since I'm the one doing a disservice to the community, please do show us your massive restoration expertise and how many cars you saved/fixed. After all, you write like you know everything better than all of us here, yet gleaming with inexperience and cluelessness when it comes to working on a car.

Anyway, if there's one thing I learned from Youtubing, is that you can't please everyone and that you can't reason with a troll that has too much free time. I genuinely regret even replying to you.

I have no skin in the game here but looking back at your post history in this thread, it seems like you're really projecting here.

Also, looking at your post history.. I'm not quite sure you should be giving opinions on who should or should not be working on cars. Did you ever find a "car electrician" to sort out your Ali Baba interior lights?

Sreten, if I have one criticism of you, it's that you have too much patience. I added our chum here to my ignore list after his 2nd post in this thread. I don't have the patience to deal with that sh1t. Kudos to you for trying.
