Two things.

1. Duct tape is used by nasa astronauts in space. Nasa far smarter than I am so I'm assuming it's sturdy? You'll be just fine I'm sure of it.

They call it "speed tape" for a reason.

I taped over a hole on a cowling once-- flew all the way from the middle east to the east cost, and that stuff didn't budge at 600 mph (0.77M).
