You definitely cannot pull out the same drifts in the GTR than you can in an M5. 4 wheel drive just isn't very fun.

That's definitely true, I was a 4 wheel drive fan, still kinda am. but I Went from an X6M to an M3 and after that I enjoy 2 wheel drive. that's why I went with the M5 over an E63 amg model S. M5 is funner

That is achieved by using the so called "press tune" and a "boost controller" (additional ECU that tricks the ECU signals and allows the boost to rise beyond factory levels). Still has the same speed limiter though... |

But as Tiff Needell says, the RWD was a more rewarding drive... |

that's what I heard too. I love the e63 amg but no free service so that's a major reason why I did not go with the amg good looking car though

We first got a passenger ride on the Autobahn (see video below - sorry about the sound it was recorded with a basic compact camera) then as we drove back the guy from Manhart pulled over and asked me if I wanted to drive it... I had just before the Manhart driven a SLS AMG and a M6 so I had a bit recent relevant comparison material. The first thing that struck me was how well the suspension rode (lowered on KW) as we rode on the backroads before getting back out on the Autobahn. On the Autobahn the car was at home and the acceleration was just crazy!!!! From 50km/h it was troublesome to find any grip but as speed built what blew me away was how it just kept on pulling as we reached 200km/h - 230km/h - 250km/h. It was just amazing how that thing just kept on pulling like crazy!!!! And it was a very nice and linear power delivery as well, no sudden uncontrollable burst of power (meaning a very controlled boost rise). Read my review on our visit to Manhart here: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=819267 |
