Just tuned - HOLY $#*! - BPM f10 m5 tune stage1+DPs

After almost a year of driving a stock F10 to get really familiar and comfortable with it in oem form, i finally got tuned this morning

First, let me say that this forum is what led me to BPM and everyone raved about Mike and his service.

WELLLL, i really tested the reputation today as i decided i was gonna tune my car this morning at 8am on the east coast... 5am in Cali where Mike and BPM are

i caught a snag that was due to an error i made
i texted Mike and was like "big time difference sorry but big problem"
5 minutes later he CALLED and I could tell he just woke up
He says "Let's go! I know what happened!"
>>>>Remote session linkup, then he did it all while i asked him unrelated bimmer nonsense over the phone at 5am
then BOOM ready to Goooo! Really, Mike is superlative

He's the man, and he is who you'll work with

THE TUNE

i compared and contrasted countless stats, specs, charts, parts, reviews & experiences of every f10 tune that is accessible to me by north american internet for almost a year

i wanted to be tuned immediately but i took my time and got one service and mod at a time to eliminate questions about what caused any CEL or error.
exhaust
meisterschaft downpipes
spark plugs
charcoal delete+filters
new battery
etc, (not in that order) lol

the cold start was killing me! but it is sublime starting my car now, that and the CEL being GONE(not just cleared) was worth the tune

The POWER? Everyone said 1st and 2nd gear was useless but damn..

80°F and very humid as always(cant wait for 55°F mornings in the coming days finally, indian summer forever over here) so my power is legitimately below optimal and road and tires are warm

3rd runs to redline like 1st used to
and 1st and 2nd is like a game of Whack-A-Mole and just see how fast u can hit them

Tires feel like they are on ice

It's mental.

I think i have a lil more power than a regular Stage1 bc i have downpipes

i didnt go stage2 for my clutches, but if i get to where i need clutches i will upgrade them and go stage 2

but i chose BPM because i could tell it was professional grade and had the best of everything
#1A1- Doesnt just clear the o2 sensor check engine light from the downpipes.. it is coded out so I will have a check engine light if anything else may occur

Cold start delete
top speed governor removal
comp pkg upgrade to steering and throttle
93 octane fuel for me, but u choose it
No AK47 Burble for me, but if u want it, its an option

One step colder NGK plugs are sold with the tune if u want to go stage 2 or be safe in case of misfires. I ordered them but was told to keep oem plugs unless i misfire. none so far

it is definitely not the same car. you really do have to feather the throttle now, at all times.
i approve

Oh and Mike is gonna try and tackle my DSC disengagement mystery Thursday.. we shall see!

Awesome! I've had both stage 1 and 2 from BPM. Hopefully going to get the car dyno'ed in a few weeks to see what stage 2 is putting down.

Ummm I gotta look into the DSC disabled thingy. How did you know you had an issue?

good stuff. Always hear great things about Mike BPMSport

Customer service is a must have for me. I think you've just convinced me to go stg 2 w/ Mike.

I've dealt with another a$$hole on here (on the E9x M3 side) that sells cut rate tunes and claims customer service but the guy is a dick in reality.

I'm happy to give my money to someone who stands behind their product 100%.

BeachM5nster where did you get your meisterschaft dp's and how was the fitment? I'm thinking of either those or Eisenmann.

do it. tell him i convinced you!!

the DPs came from GTautohaus which is the only(or HQ) dealer of Meisterschaft to my knowledge. $1200+ , i got lucky and were on sale for $900 when i ordered, but that might be the new price since the f90 is out good now

Which ones did you get? I see a 76mm piping option and a 90mm option.

Now that you've driven it more, any impressions on the difference in steering?

BeachM5nster thanks for the write up and after math of your your tune. I too have been looking to upgrade for a long time but have been hesitant to pull the trigger. However after your post I'm certain to go with Mike at BPM sport.

Awesome! Been meaning to get a tune for my F10. I'm sure you're noticing a big difference but are you planning to get dyno done soon since numbers speak facts so the actual gain through numbers will be more interesting to see. Also if you can post some videos that would be great. Be safe and enjoy! 🙂
