Yes I'm hoping to get that locked in early since I know what date I'd like to do ED in spring.

I think BMW is just getting too greedy.

This is my 3rd M5 and 8th BMW within last 12 years. I don't understand why BMW would allow dealer to make $10k profit. For what? It's not like BMW dealer is known for their exceptional services and attitude.

I also don't think that for a dealer to sell ED invoice +$1500 is abuse of the program. Its the dealer that insists on charging ED MSRP that is abusing the program. For them to go crying to BMWNA and BMWNA agreeing to their beef is ridiculous.

I had to pay $5k above US MSRP on my E60 M5 because of greedy dealer in west coast. I am happy that on F10 I ended up paying only $1500 over ED invoice. At least I am closer to being treated more fairly by BMW dealer.

Hoping for this for the spring along with a DRAMATIC improvement for the residual as well. I would rather do a M5, but with this kind of residual, I may just have to do a 550 M-Sport.

For the same reason that oil companies are making billions of dollars of profit every quarter.

While i think it's fair for a dealer to charge whatever they want they should also deal with the loss of business when one person goes to another dealer. Once you know what you want it's a "commodity". Price wins. I would rather work with one dealer and form a relationship over time. That relationship includes the dealer making a reasonable profit. They are not the United Way. In the same respect trying to take advantage of a situation and charging over MSRP is unfair. At the end of the day if you chose to sell a car for x and another dealer charges less than the higher priced dealer has to deal with the lost business.

I was SHOCKED as well at the residual. Was expecting 55%-56% and got 50% - it caused me to choke for a second when I looked at the impact to my monthly payment! I wouldn't expect to see any material increase in the residual in the first model year, maybe later in the production life cycle.

Depending on traffic, half hour to 40 minutes. There's a car group called C&C (Cars & Croissants) that meets every 2 weeks. I plan to attend the first one after I take delivery, likely the October 7th meet. It varies in location between the Hilton Hotal in Whippany on Route 10 and Chatham High School in Chatham on Lafayette Ave. A few members from another board go regularly - check this link periodically for updates:
