I'm currently running a stage 1 tune.

Pros are its faster, more responsive, pops and bangs more.

Cons... have to flash it back to stock before going to the dealer lol

Can you advise who did the tune and how much it cost (PM if you prefer)

Is it a better car now or is traction more of an issue

Evolve do a map you can load yourself and remove as required but its expensive for what it is

I went bootmod3 in the end. I wasn't fussed about pushing it too far and I was catless at the time so just wanted rid of the cel, cold start and the price was really good! The car feels such a slouch without the tune and traction isn't really an issue, well not any more than usual if that make sense, its a quick car stock so you can't just put your foot flat to the floor and hope it'll be alright in most situations without the traction control going nuts. So I'd say its a better car. Not done any 0-60 or dyno runs either

Any more info on the bootmod3? I'm very interested but can't seem to find out how to go about it.

I bought the tune from protuningfreaks.com and then all you need is a ENET cable which cost about £20, a laptop download the agent software and then you are good to go! they do also offer a wifi agent for $250 but you can build one yourself for about £40 (I can help with this if you like) then you can flash the tune from your smartphone. You will also need a battery charger to make sure the battery doesn't go flat, but I think that will be needed with all flash tunes, as when the battery gets low it starts shutting ecu's down which then can cause the tune to fail mid flash.

Where abouts in the UK are you? I am down in Southampton

Have been Googling Bootmod3 as well looks like a New Era for tuning, I can see a few UK companies offer it now as well.

Only issue is they don't show what the power increases to, also would want to know if they have fixed the issue with the ECU counter increasing when you change maps.

As far as I know it resets the ECU counter. Mine has been back to the dealer twice were they would have plugged into the car. There was a post somewhere on here where they dyno'd a car with the tune. For me I wasn't looking to push it that far as I didn't want to stress anything especially the clutches. The guy who wrote the tune actually owns and runs a M6

makes no odds they can tell straight away pal when they plug it in, via fasting Data and the car throws the DME manipulation code.

I'm researching on a stage 1 tune aswell.

Very tricky as I want something very easy to install and remove any time(so can't do jb4)

I haven't got a laptop.

Was interested in open flash as they have a handheld device but they have some negative reviews.

Ideally, if I want a handheld device off the shelf map or a map that can be installed via my mobile.
