Oh boy Chas stuffs it into the barriers backwards and it's a bad hit with wheels and wing all visibly bent, just too much speed on a dirty track onto a kerb and an instant passenger.

To top of an uneventful FP2 Guanyu has broken down with minutes to go in the shaky Alfa stopping the session.

Schumacher accomplished 13 victories in 18 races. It took Max 19. If you're going to compare the two then Max needs to exceed Schumacher's 72.2 percent of wins. Not to take anything away from Max, he is having a great season. But need to hold off comparing him to Schumacher. Schumacher could have had 9 or 10 titles easily if he didn't decide to go rebuild the Ferrari team and joined either Williams or McLaren. Max is off to a great start of his career but let's hold off comparing him to the greatest F1 drivers. |

Would be nice to see Checo win but do not think he will be able to match Max's pace again. And I think there is a very fine line between letting someone win as a thank you and giving someone a very condescending participation trophy. If it comes down to it and it is completely up to Max to allow it to happen I can see it being perceived by PER as a compliment and thank you from teammate to teammate. If it is team orders I think the win for PER has the chance of being hollow & meaningless in his eyes.
Also I do think Checo is the best teammate Max has had so far - but he has not been vital to his success. When Max needed it last year Checo was typically not in the mix to help with team strategy. Max was usually on his own with both Merc cars and no protection. He did help slow HAM a bit in Abu Dhabi but ultimately that had no impact on the race. This year outside of Spain he has been much of a non factor again as well. I think Perez is a very good team player and understands he is a clear 2nd on the team (as he should be). He is a solid driver but without Ferrari's buffoonary this year he would not be 2nd in the championship whereas Max would still be 1st. Should Max give him P1 in Mexico should that situation arise? I think it would be an epic gesture of gratitude considering the situation but I'm not sure that is warranted. Maybe as payback for Spain team orders when VER's DRS wasn't working - but otherwise I do not think it is owed to him. |

In the beginning of this season Carlito was a regular client in the gravel traps .. Then later , he got bad luck with his Ferrari PU in fire But in the last 2-3 races he's more confident (one) with the car .That's why he got the pole in Japan as well.. Too bad that Ferrari is loosing it completely in the races .. But from what we witnessed ,it looks like Ferrari is unbeatable over one lap , the pole lap at every track . I think in Mexico it won't be otherwise .. 3 hours to go for the QF (that's 10 PM over here) Can't wait my friend ! Hopefully the best driver wins this race ...

If Ferrari can figure out their tires in '23 (and quit shooting themselves in the foot) and maybe see a Merc rise up - could set up for some epic competition. Big ifs there because you have to assume some positive evolution at RBR as well. But I think here in the next couple of years if RBR realizes some diminishing returns we could an epic showdown again. |

As for the race , It's like you said . Mexico , the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez track means very hard braking in the high altitude (thin air) That's hard work for the Ferrari front brakes , the heat from the brakes will overheat their front tires even quicker .. Even Mercedes is better tire saving , see them finish in front of the Ferrari's . Taking the pole is always great , but in the race it really matters .. The tire saving advantage is for the RB18 , but they struggle to get the pole because they are thinking forwards with a race setup during the qualifying . Checo the latest : It wont be easy for us ..
