IPhone 5s and text receiving function

I am wondering if anyone know any tricks to make the text and email function to work with my phone. It's a 14 m5 cp and iPhone 5s with iOS7.
I have connected drive and hooked up my phone to a USB cable to the car, but I still can't receive text messages.

Make sure you turn on "show notifications" on your phone in the bluetooth section for your car. I had the same problem.

Also, do you have enhanced USB/BT? That gives you "office" functions like text and email notifications although only works with certain phones. Not sure your 5s and iOS7 are covered, but you can check the BMW site.

Email does not work, and you can only receive txts.

I had my iPhone running iOS 8.2 beta 4 and was getting emails and texts to my Messages screen in iDrive. I just upgraded to beta 5 and it seems to have gone away. I haven't done a lot of research yet or deleted/re-added the BT device but I'll report back with any useful info.

Any luck getting SMS messages and emails on your iPhone with a newer iOS since then?
