Gun Mount for M5

I'm looking for a place to mount a 4" 1911 in my M5. Center console is a good place, but wanted to see if anyone else has ideas or places they've mounted their defense weapons in the F10 series.

Compartment to the left of the steering wheel has been great for my XDs, although it's the 3.3". Even fit the two extra magazines there with it.

If not, then the mounts for the underside of the steering column are awesome too.

As you're from FL and after the tragedy that just happened there, I can understand your reply. However, I am a licensed CCW owner and am only interested in defending myself or others in the event that it would become necessary.

Have a great day!

Are you referring to the 3M stick on mounts with magnets? I'd be concerned that the magnets may scratch the finish of my pistol.

Ill look at the door pocket option when I take delivery of the car. In my Corvette I just kept it in the center console and it fit very nicely there.

Ah yeah okay if you haven't seen the pocket, I think you'll be pleased. It is a perfect fit for most carry weapons.

No, not a fan of the magnets. Last thing I need is for someone to rear end me and the weapon to fly to the foot well. Besides, you're right, I don't like the opportunity to damage the finish on the weapon.

I was referring more to something like this: https://www.gungoddess.com/products/...-holster-mount

I had mine at my knee. In the grove between the console and the carpet is a good space to mount a holster. Mine was not visible, easily accessible, and you could cover with carpet to make it really disappear. The only problem is valet or when you leave the car. In that case, I locked it in the center console.

weak...You call that a gun? Go big or go home. I've already mounted the M134 turret in my sunroof opening.

I've also got a Colt M1A 1911 from WWII Pacific theater, it was wielded by my wifes uncle and was used in combat. Amazing weapon.

My favorite is my Ultra Carry II, but I have a Beretta 92FS a friend custom built for me that is the most smooth gun I own.

that's a really cool story to that gun. IMO, I wouldn't use it anymore, it's a historical artifact in my view. I would be devastated if I lost that gun IMO, especially if it has family history. I would get it certified for authenticity and keep it in at home and show it to my friends only.

Do you have a picture of it? I'd love to see it. I'm a big WWII and history guy...

Here you go! Note, the trigger is not original. The gun was in pieces when it was recovered from the old family house. I had it rebuilt by CSA here in town and they were unable to find an original trigger for it.

Love this thread! Murica! I hope we can all agree that responsible gun ownership means going to the range regularly and reporting threatening/strange behaviors to local authorities!

Fire Away!
