The wider tire means more contact and less wear life. I had my original 295 tires for about 14 months. Now after 6 months on 305, today I figured out the tread left is about 4/32". I need new tires in 1-2 months!
2. Cornering.
As you mentioned (and I agree) the traction is significantly better, but in turns/cornering car is not as agile as it was on 295 which was predictable.
3. DD intention.
M5/M6 are meant to be DD car and not track car. Not everybody wants to launch M5/M6 every day so they don't need 305 while 295 is better fit for daily driving.

However, I take 305 over 295(due to traction improvement). I will go for another 305 again. unfortunately MPSS 315/30/20 is not available. If it was, I would go for it
Makes sense to me..! Good points!

Boots says there are rear 345mm tyres that fit 20x11 wheels without rubbing. I, like everyone else, would like to get the specifics of this!

I don't think there would be space on the stock wheels and rubbing issues..

Like I sad there is trade-off between traction and handling.
R888 315/30/20 for sure has much better traction since it's a very soft compound and wide tire, but
1. Makes car more understeer
2. Has less wear life
3. Not good for wet/uneven roads
4. MDM is not as fun as it is on stock tires
5. 20 mm wider tire (compare to stock 295) on stock rims might cause rubbing issue. Not worried about outside but inside is too much IMO

I've been wanting R888 tires but the only other size in 20" is 285/35. I believe that that size would be too big for the front. I'd also put these on after market wheels so the width of the rim would be wider than stock.

Regarding #1, do you just DD the car or launch/track much? That seems rather high wear for the 305mm P-Zeros. I expected them to have lasted longer.

I just DD the car + couple launches per day since I need smile on my face
BTW my tires are MPSS not P-Zero ...

Aah a couple of launches per day, I don't blame you and don't blame the MPSS rubber for their "looooong" life.

Mine are Pirelli P Zeros.. My 295s lasted 6000 miles. My remap gives me 625lbft torque so my tires were just spinning..the 305s have only been on the car 2 weeks or so.. But so far traction is significantly better...

625 lb-ft at crank?
With that much torque, how is the launch with DSC OFF?

No point...If I put my foot flat the back wheels just make a mess, although with the 305s I haven't really tried putting my foot flat before third..memories from before were disturbing as I skid across two lanes on the highway..nasty business.

I'll just add that since I've had the 305s there has been a massive improvement in traction though..

Never heard of him, will search the forum in an attempt to pm him or something. 345mm should put an end to most of the traction problems. Thanks mcv

I have BBS CHRs 9.5front and 10.5rear
I also have HAS KIT and the car is lowered an inch.
Can I put pzeros 275/305 on and not have it rub?
It's for track use btw.
Any help would be truly appreciated!

Should be fine stock. Not sure with lowered HAS KIT..

Im running 305s in the back and plan on increasing my fronts by one size (confirmed ok) when they are done.

Otherwise..if you want to stick with 295s there is an awesome deal on Corsas at half price in the classifieds..

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1124934

They will stick like #$%% on a blanket..on the track..
