BMW M5 (F10) - Door seal problem - anyone else had this ?

All 4 door seals on my 3 month old M5 have perished. The dealer has immediately booked it in for replacements (without inspection) but wondered if anyone else has encountered this problem and what may have caused it ?

Looks like a chemical reaction... maybe change the products you use to wash the car

I would have thought similar, but it's the same cleaning foam I washed the car with from new and only me has washed it so far, with the exception of the supplying dealer. I currently use this product on 3 other vehicles and have used on previous vehicles without an issue. When the car went in for the seal replacement (and my local dealer didn't quibble), the dealer suggested it may have been 'nibbled' by wildlife which would seem fairly plausible but there are no other marks on the adjoining trim or paintwork and the seal is actually stretched and loose on one of the doors. I'm hoping it is just a faulty set of seals but only time will tell.

Thinking a little more darker her:
Someone pushing a coat hanger down the seal to try and open the door?

Cheers for the thought but think the trim or paintwork would have signs of damage if so.

I was going to say that it looks like it has been nibbled... are your wipers ok?

Wipers and all other seals are good thanks, it's just the top door seals. Strange one and was posting thinking it may have happened to other M5's
