Its super easy on the OEM Comp exhaust. It's a different story on the Akrapovic/MPE as the valves are turned all the way inside.

I would just do the wire mod and keep it open 100% of the time and call it a day. I did it on my Akra btw. Maybe on the stock and CP exhaust there's a big difference. I heard it on my friend's CP after we did the mod, it wasn't noticeable other than startup IMO. But he claims that it is noticeable under certain throttle conditions when driving.

Correct, this operates the same flaps. This gives you the flexibility to open and close them. I find this option handy, but I could other people having little use for it.
