The electric portion that assembles to the valvebody.

To the OP - Be careful if you choose a used mechatronic, I attempted to install one used and I could not re-code it.
Tried every option thru ISTA and it stated not able to re-code.
No communication to transmission. I had to remove the transmission and re-install the original unit from the car

Ecu send wrong values to mechatronic (body valve )
I need to replace new ecu

No you can not start the engine. You can not communicate to the transmission at all when the defect unit was installed either.
I removed it and re-installed my clients original unit.

The used unit was from S63TU platform, not S65
This is the message from ISTA :

The measures plan execution is not possible, since the maximum number of possible programming procedures
has been reached on the following control units : EGS
These control units can no longer be programed and must be replaced

The used unit is being recognized by the tool
The used part was supposed to be able to be programmed with my tool, otherwise I would not of purchased it.
My ISTA is registered with BMW and I receive current updates.
When I talk to trusted tuners that use aftermarket tools like you are describing, they state the unit is non-programmable just like my ISTA is telling me.
We also tried ESYS which is the development software for BMW engineer. No luck with that either.
The unit I received is no good.
Maybe you had better luck but not with my scenario

Like auto hex
If you are used donor ecu
Before programing or recode
You find note compatible or not
An i found compatible aNd programmed too
Taked vin number
For isn i can reset it by autohex too
For all bmw cars
Except dct 🤷🏼*♂️

The mechatronics unit on my first M5 was replaced by my local BMW dealer. It was part #28-60-7-846-717 and 28-60-7-842-861. Shockingly expensive; was covered under warranty. The line item on the RO says "Replacing mechatronics (after vehicle diagnosis) (without programming encoding, see 61 00 ...)"

So, not sure how they were able to get around that part. Maybe because the replacement had never been coded before?

No
If you used full part mechatronic and ecu
It must be programmed or they send it programing I included by vin
If you used your mechatronic only with out ecu
You no need to programing it

Well for sure they shipped in the mechatronics unit form Germany (took a week), and they didn't replace the ECU. The service tech and I stayed in close contact as he was a personal friend. Either way, the job was a shit show and added 13 DAVIS days to my car which ws later bought back by BMW NA

Correct, that is because it is a new non-coded module

I have an M3 F80 which has the same issue and needs DCT replacement. If I get a DCT replacement, connect the original mechatronic & ECU there is no issue in getting it running?
