For how long though....... : if the numbers keep rising over the next few weeks, I'm sure Boris will have no choice but to enforce a lockdown, possibly for 2 weeks or more.?.? Don't think he will shut businesses as he wants the revenues, but he could lock us down possibly during the upcoming half term....

6178 more cases in a week is concerning and agree that Boris wants to keep businesses going, with Sturgeon now attacking England because of Scotlands spike he could well be forced to bring in more measures.

I’m not 100% sure what this current thing is. You shouldn’t go to work but you can sit in the pub all day with 5 mates until kick out at 10pm.

6634 new cases TODAY alone, a new all time high for the uk..... this thing is close to getting a grip again of the general public and forcing Boris into locking everyone down.....
Time for a beer...... lol

I’m finding the logic of any of it barmy. The main reason we are recording more cases is because we are testing exponentially more people than we were the last go around. Maths is funny like that. By this stage in a national emergency I would expect a bit more specific detail around the response. I was masked up in a certain fairly busy area in the NW two days ago and I 5h1t you not, I was the only person wearing a mask in a fairly big crowd of people relaxing in the shops/coffee houses in the working day.

We had an appalling toll last time because it swept through care homes hitting really vulnerable people. It’s almost like everyone plans to just forget this.

If we don’t find a way of working and spending like the old days quickly there won’t be an economy left. In thousands of years archaeologists will dig up an M5 and wonder why we needed 600bhp to go to the off licence.

Well, the "2nd wave" is certainly on its way nearby to where I live...... the Northwest of England is becoming one of (if not) the worst areas in the uk atm. People have literally decided to please themselves now regarding how they conduct themselves.... I reckon there will be some "social" lockdowns coming soon, pubs and restaurants likely to shut and possibly some other social activities up for lockdown again, gyms, cinemas etc, but all other businesses will be able to operate with covid restrictions...... :

Just saw on a map the NW was around 116,000 compared with each of other areas, that's a lot of cases. I guess Boris is holding of implementing full lockdowns until things get worse.

Well all the tier systems are worth fuck all!!! We've been in tier 3 (Wyre Borough) since it started and have now got a chance of becoming tier 2 for Xmas...... Now our rates have been low for the last 3/4 weeks and always falling yet local media on social networks are now saying cases are rising locally (even though we are way below national averages) and miles below London Essex and Kent..... What's the odds on us being in Tier 3 for Xmas and all restaurants/pubs not being allowed to open for their busiest time of the year??? ..... I would rather go for a meal in a safe restaurant than head for a shopping centre where people just don't care... : Yet these places will STAY open and allow the uneducated simpletons to continue being careless and spreading this feckin Rona virus!
Good luck to you all wherever you may be on having a Tier 2 Xmas where you can at least enjoy SOME comforts of a normal life......

Lock down is a total joke as the figures have backed up time and time again, remember August and eating out, so long as hospitality take the right measures I am happy to support. I feel we are being primed for an extended wait ie next April, furloughs, bounce back extended etc, etc,

Ps, how can an areas in Tier 1 go to a tier 3 with a lock down in between

Now we're waiting if we can actually have 3 parties from other households for Christmas period as they're thinking of knocking that on the head now.

Tier 3 for a large majority of England now.... Painful for families not being able to go anywhere, not go out for a meal (and a pint) and zero socialising in any hospitality venues!!
Fucking cured of this shit now, get this vaccine sorted quick as an M5 so we get get some sort of normality back to our lives......

This Pfizer vaccine is estimated to work on 70% of people, there will be side and possible long time after affects on some and they say if you have an allergy not to take it at all!
Like you I'm dog tired of staying in and want to return to some normality taking these masks off.
