boots, I had a '09 550i (w/ Dinan & 6 speed) also. That car was rock solid. Other than oil changes and a battery, I sold it with 125k on the clock.

My current dd is an 08 550i with 6 speed manual, I love the platform, great solidly reliable car too. Of course prefer my F10 M5.

No issues bizz. But since I was approaching 100,000 miles I decided to make the car slow again LOL. The only thing I really wanted to do was make the car for us again by replacing everything so that the car can last another 100k miles

Car is slow until i put my foot down. Lol

Yes the 08-09 550 are great cars. I miss mine Fast too. But this f10 platform is an eye opener and sleeper car.

Awesome review Boots. Nice to hear an affirmation of the build quality of the Beast. Currently at 600 rwhp with my car and I still smile from ear to ear when I open it up. Doing a couple of more mods this year. I considered switching over to an S6 or S8 Audi because we just got my wife an A8L but decided that would be a mistake. Anyway, congrats and good to hear that BMW makes a tank now.

The first thing I did was remove the charcoal filters and install a KN air filter. Soon after installed HR springs and then when it was the appropriate time after Dave Rpi M5 installed his catless downpipe's I installed mine with his advice. I put about 30 -40,000 miles using HR Springs and then decided to go KWV3 which was night and day difference and so much better. I did what everybody else did in the beginning by using a piggyback which we all know isn't good for your coils or plugs and then when a tune came out or what they call a tune I started off with one vendor and ended up with using Halim a.k.a. HCP. I've never had any issues with my interior of the car. Still looks fresh and smells fresh. No pillar arm noises or broken parts. I've only done 3 launch control starts when the car was brand new. No reason after that as it's a waste of my time and money. Car handles like a dream and I always enjoy the fit finish sound and power that the car has. I can race and beat many higher hp exotic cars as well as American big hp cars. Drop her pants down to 2nd and let her rip. After 85k miles I up the ante on power again and I've went from stock clutch to ssp when I was pushing 697hp and tq. But after finding out the clutch was installed wrong after burning it up I had another installed. The car had the same symptoms as the first and it burnt also. Pissed off I was I then went back to stock with a factory new already installed clutch pack and after 5k mikes zero issues of brutal driving. But before that I back my tune down to 610. All in all I'm so happy with my car and everyone who knows me know this car is still a dream to drive. If you guys take care of your car it will provide you with stress free driving. I've put new on turbos around 90k, change coils plugs all fluids. This weekend to celebrate I will go to some roads in San Antonio called the three sisters and enjoy the twisters. Safe driving you guys.

Boots
Very cool...enjoyed reading the write up and enjoy the drive.

Lol. I've been through a few but don't remember how many. Depends how a person drives I guess. I average about 18k per set. Still using mpss

Great to hear what settings you run
Ok I found my setting. I'm f 5 rebound 3 bump and rear 5 rebound 4 bump. I'm still trying new settings to get it perfect for me but so far this has worked really good for my style. I'm also just a tad lower than stock ride height if that helps you out.

Thanks man. Yea build quality is definitely there if you take care of your investment. Push it every time you can to keep that smile going.

Common on n54 engines, lots of carbon deposit gets built up on the intake valves, I thought this was something that needed to be done on s63tu near 100k but I could have misread.
