Should I buy a f10 m5

Hello you guys so I'm super interested in buying a f10 m5 maybe a 2013 or 14 model

There is a couple here around my area that cost roughly 37-38k or so with 28k-46k or so miles

Do you guys think is a good purchase or stay away
I'm honestly not some one with deep pockets lol by no mean there for I'm looking for a decent cheap one

or should I stay away from these bad boys

I've had a n54 e90 335i I've had a 135i n55 and I currently have a f30 n55

But I honestly want to jump up to something faster and I've always loved the m5 especially how they sound

Do these have any common issues or are they not reliable

Spending money on cars as in parts ?

Or upgrades

I mean are these cars not that reliable

I have a friend that used to work at the dealer and he mentioned fuel pump goes out as a common problem also he mention about spark plugs go bad pretty quick in these cars ?

How bout the clutches do they go quick ??

Also long as the car has been well maintained, these cars are awesome. Not sure I've heard anything about fuel pumps. And spark plugs are same as most cars, 30k for regular maintenance. I got some clutches upgraded but plenty of people are on stock clutches with upgrades as well. These cars are great deals right now. For the amount of power, technology and 4 doors you get for the price, it's hard to beat.

I know it might be some higher miles but mines up for sale if you're interested: https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/c...195702468.html

Cheap to buy, but still has parts/maintenance costs of a six figure car. Cost me 2k to do my brakes/rotors, and i did it myself.

I did some research in this service and yeah wow

Very expensive Even for steal rotors not even carbon ceramics

what else is very expensive in this car to maintain

Maybe the clutches. ?

Do the clutches really go out that fast ?

Clutches are only an issue if you're going to be pushing over 700 tq. Stock power has no issue

I bought my 2013 M5 6MT from Carvana of all places after searching high and low for a 6 speed. While the car had some minor issues (battery, ac compressor, defroster), the warranty from Carvana covered everything. Knock on wood, 13,000 miles and 10 months later its perfect (knock on wood). Its my daily - driving 75 miles a day. From what i hear these cars like to run. Someone on here said run it on the highway often and it will be fine. That's what i do on top of regular maintenance.

LOVE IT !!!

battery and AC condenser are not uncommon replacement items at this point. My battery was replaced by the BMW dealership before I bought it. I had to replace the AC compressor within the first year.

if you can touch a newer F10-m5 with 28k miles for $38k, you need to pick it up...or there is something bad wrong with it. That's a smoking deal.

Make the move. I've had 5 of the n54 all stage 2+ e90 e92s e93. I then went to a 750u f10 535d mapped, f13 659i mapped.

I have a f10 M5 and it is in a different league. There are a lot of post about these car going wrong. If you've had the n54 and have been able to keep on top of maintenance, then the M5 won't be an issue.
Just make sure you do you checks and 1 that has full service history and possible oil changes every 5k.

My recommendation would be to step up your budget a little. If you're looking at spending $37k, you're probably more comfortable w/ haggling down to $35k. I get it, but unless you find a really good car like Ickdeep 's you're better off spending a bit more now than spending a ton later on maintenance or the unknown.

I bought mine with 17k. Now at 32k. No issues.

Values seem to be unchanged from when I bought mine nearly two years ago. Has the depreciation halted on these cars temporarily, or are these cars sitting on the market for a long time?

I bought the first one I saw just 10 miles from me luckily in the colour, spec and wheels I wanted with 25k miles, now on nearly 38k. Most important thing is the engine rather than what accessories are on it, night vision, lane change, especially comfort entry can be annoying and expensive to fix if they go wrong and some b&0 amplifiers have expired .Comfort seats and split/fold rears are more important to me.
It's not unusual for these rapid cars having quite a few owners as after a couple years some owners hanker for a change due to the nature of the car and want to pay less for servicing, repairs and insurance etc.

I bought a 2013 with around 75k miles I know people usually say to stay away from the 13s but this one had maintenance records and looked mint in person. I didn't see any rock chips on the hood, seller included spark plugs and coil packs also had some stock parts included. It came with a few mods full dinmann carbon kit ( Lip, diffuser, and side skirts) also has a carbon steering wheel. As far as engine mods it came with vrsf downpipes, dinan exhaust, and dme stage 2 tune. Suspension came with H&R lowering springs. I also knew his Indy mechanic so that was really convenient. I haven't had any issues and the car has no leaks at all. It's all about the maintenance just like any other car. I had a 2006 e60 m5 and ran it to 140k miles only issue I had to fix was throttle actuators good luck man !
