So I picked up my '16 F10 CP w/ manual in February and like most of us haven't been able to drive it too much. That has benefited me from the standpoint the original warranty still has 150 miles until I hit 50k. Had an oil leak that was just fixed by the dealership (Pacific BMW in Glendale) that was caused by a leak in the upper oil sump gasket under warranty. While there I wanted them to also look at the trunk because when I open it there's a knocking/clicking sound as it opens on the left arm. Maybe 5-6 of those as it opens (not when it closes). They said they couldn't recreate the sound and my guess is that it's because they're in the bay and it's loud. Love to hear from others if this is normal and if not, any idea what's causing this? Still have time to get the warranty to cover!!

Thanks all!

I had a similar issue on one of my other cars few years ago, it was a faulty motor.

I agree. Not normal and sounds like motor gears failing. Bring it back and get them to listen to it while you're there and/or outside.

Thanks for the help here folks. Went back to Pacific BMW (Glendale, CA) and the same agent was there to help. Said he couldn't hear it but had the video and he called out a tech. Tech quickly said he heard it and they'd take the car in. Keep all posted on the actually issue when I hear back.
