Help in search of 6speed m5

Hello Everyone ,

I'm looking to possibly get into a manual m5. Does anyone have one located close in NYC ? I've never driven yet alone been in the m5. I've had a e90 m3 and f80 m3. I was just wondering if the car is in fact worth it and would it be enjoyable . Any help would be greatly appreciated !

I went from an E90 to F10, the driving cannot be compared. I will pick the E90 if I could for the driving pleasure - so will 90% of people.

The F10 is great in its own way, its a good family hauler with the speed and torque when needed. However, I feel it is missing the previous gen' M5 'soul'. I do like mine given where I am in my life, however, I keep wanting more and feel that I am missing the connection to the 'M' rawness like the older E-series cars. Note that this feedback should not be new, given this was in every review of the F10 across video and print when the car was launched and the following years.

To your question on 'worth' and 'joy' they are relative terms. So if you are comparing it to your E90 it may not bring you the same joy (did not to me). My friend went from an Infiniti to the F10, and the F10 gives him a lot of joy. Same goes for 'worth' - you have to ask your pocket if you can bear the M tax on it versus the 'joy' you want to get out of it

Keep an eye out on the forums and I am sure others will chime in as well. I know 'selo' was looking to sell his, but he is also on the West Coast (or close); not around NYC. But his is under warranty for peace of mind if you decide to pull the trigger one.

GL!

Thank you for the insight. I've always wanted to try the m5 platform. I absolutely loved my e90. It was t the fastest but the sound was amazing. I figured the last m5 Sedan with a manual should be special and enjoyable. I'm thinking maybe I might start looking back into the f8x series.

If that car checks clean, Ill buy it. 29k miles is cherry.

I love my e90 and e60. It feels like the old BMW but they dont make it like it used too.

But I drive highway all the time and if I can drive my F10 I will.

BMW of mount laurel in nj supposedly has a low mileage 2015 right now. 32k miles. Decent price at 49k.

I have gotten a lot of value out of the HUD in this car*, and as a bit of an audiophile, the B&O is very good for a car system. Don't think I'd go without either, but 6MTs are hard to come by and 6MT with sakhir orange is going to be very rare, I imagine.

*even more so after coding the HUD turn signals. I can't see the damn thing sin the dash due to the position of the dash vs wheel and my height.

will be selling mine within the next 6 months. will post the listing when i can get a day to wash it up and take some decent pics.

this car has brought me plenty of joy and would hold onto it longer if i had the garage space, but will be downsizing.

I have a 13 M5 with 40k mikes in sakhir orange paint and a 6 speed. Super rare. Never thought I'd see another. Haven't until that link above!

The manuals are going for higher money and I suspect this trend will continue

I have a e92 m3 manual and recently sold my '15 m5 comp DCT. M5 is a amazing car but didn't wow me in the feel department. Keeping my eye open for manual in case that may help - but I think you have to go in expecting it to be a large fast lux boat not a sports car (regardless of how fast it is).

tough to compare to an e92 (I had an e91 MT!) and understanding that these are 2 completely different cars, the MT really keeps you quite engaged at no matter how "lazy" you are feeling.

I have been driving around in throttle sport-plus to keep the heel-toe practice, but the auto-blip certainly makes life easier.

there is no way around 4400 lbs compared to an e92, but this car still brings a smile to my face when I drive it.

(FYI I just listed my M5 for sale yesterday)

I have both a heavily modified e90 M3 and an F10 M5 Comp.

F10 is not that really 'fun' of a car to drive in comparison. It serves me well though with its luxury, power, and composed chassis. Can drive it all day and not be worn out at all.

If I could only have 1 car, I wouldn't have the F10 though.

Went for only $83,000.
Pretty funny, considering the fact that when I was trying to sell my my comp manual w 45 k mi a couple months ago, most of the calls I got really wanted the car, but then wasted my time preaching to me about why it just wasn't worth mid 50s. Glad I held onto it.

That's a little absurd but I love it as an owner of a near identical car

I'm holding my 2013 Sakhir orange manual forever. Has only 40k. These are only going up. Wait for another 5 years, if miles are kept decent will be worth good money.

Any one know how to figure out how many sakhir orange manual f10 M5s were made? I saw some numbers by color a while back but can't find it now.

Seems there's a dollar incentive to change your DCT for a manual if it's mechanically practical.

I don't but would love to know as well. I'd always heard about ~550 made between '13-16 and I joke that at least a 100 of them have been totaled by racing/stupidity!

Totalled, high miles, heavily modded.
The amount of remaining clean cars has to be extremely small.
